If you buy the allergy cover that they will try to sell you, yes. I also have th Serta model which, like David said was much cheaper than the Tempur-Pedic. We've had it since May '05 and it still feels great.

I'm not at work today, so it's the XDM 40. -
A little ammo to fight anti-gun Legislation.

And summarily ignored by every municipality that "opted out" of the new law allowing HCP holders to carry in parks. -
That is a nice looking gun. From the picture it looks like the trigger pull is about a mile long. What say you?

It never gets old hearing these stories.

That's OK, their one-handed shooting instruction was top notch too.

If I'm not mistaken, those devices are passive. And I don't think AT&T is the only place where they have them.

There was a time not too long ago when our government didn't own things like automobile factories and banks, but that has changed. It all boils down to this: Democrat or Republican, neither side is actually doing anything to make the government smaller or shorten its reach. While I don't THINK this will pass, and I certainly HOPE that it doesn't, I wouldn't say there's no way. Damn, I hope you're right.

Blackberry Bold 9000 in rotatable leather holster with magnetic strap. Can't carry at work. But there's an XDM 40 in OD and stainless in my car. -
No HCP on personal property?

+1 for the cops in McMinville. -

I'm not sure what the difference is between going to McDonald's to have a cheeseburger and a coke with my firearm, or going to Ted's Montana to have a cheeseburger and a coke with my firearm. Maybe someone could explain this to me. -
No HCP on personal property?
LagerHead replied to THE COOP's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yes and no. It is illegal to carry a handgun in Tennessee. Special exemption is made for HCP holders. So in essence, you paid to have more rights than other citizens. Love it or hate it, that's the way it is. Yes and no again. You don't have to have a permit to own a gun, or to fire one. It is legal to carry an unloaded firearm in your trunk, away from your reach without a permit, so doing this wouldn't really prove anything. Besides, LEO's are like you and me. They have better things to do with their time, for the most part, than to harass people at the range. -
David, since Rep. Baird didn't take the time, I will. Thank you very much for your service to a grateful nation. Semper Fi, Marine. Second, if ever a fresh can o' whoop ass was opened on someone, that was it. Fantastic speech. You said more worth hearing in two minutes than Pelosi, Reid, and Obama have said in 8 months.

You did see a post about an LEO asking to see a permit. 2 notes on that. 1) you don't have to have on your property, but 2) you DO have to produce it when asked by an LEO, no matter where you are. -
That's a damn fine gun, David. And you obviously have a Grade A wife to (even reluctantly) bless this purchase.

This made me laugh.

See? Both of you would give a reasonable answer, thereby establishing your character. In this case, it works against the opposition. If however, you gave answer like "Cuz I like ta shoot ****." then it would not be so much in your favor. The point is, when lawyers ask questions that have nothing to do with the case, they're trying to paint you into a corner. It's Interrogation 101 - misdirection. They will ask as many questions of you that have nothing to do with the case as your lawyer and the judge allow. So you should answer every single question, no matter how mundane or irrelevant with a view that they are not on your side, and every answer can and will be used against you.
-
That is correct. The law states that it is illegal to carry a weapon either openly or concealed. It then goes on to state that an exception will be made for those actively working as a law enforcement officer, those who have a valid HCP issued or recognized by the state, etc.

Unfortunately, I think the old "It goes to establishing character" argument is going to be upheld by the judge. My guess is, in most cases you're going to have to answer the question. Personally, I don't like this type of approach. Not picking on you; yours just happens to be the last one of this type in the thread. Anyway, that's not why most of us carry, so why pretend you only shoot at the range? Besides, if they push the issue and ask if you ever carry in stores, etc. you are going to either backpedal or perjure yourself, both of which work against you. The fact is, stuff happens. You wear a seat belt because even the best drivers get broadsided by folks running a red light. You buy insurance because even the most frugal of us get hit with unexpected illness, fire, accidents, and death. You lock your doors because even the best neighborhoods get robbed. And you carry your gun because even the most unlikely of us get victimized by criminals. My point is, even in court you need to stick to your guns, if you'll pardon the pun. Don't let some scumbag lawyer (not all lawyers are scumbags, just the scumbag ones) put you in a position where you say something you either don't mean, or will later regret. Remember, lawyers are skilled at making you say something you don't want to, no matter how much we (myself included) love to dog them. Just my . Hope it's worth at least half that much.

I read it after the edit, and I think it was very plainly and well stated. I can't wait to see part 2.

Those psych tests are crap anyway. When I was in the Army, you had to take a 600+ question psych test for my job, and nutjobs still got in. I worked with a guy who thought Big Foot was real (the monster, not the truck), believed we were put here by aliens (the outer space kind, not the river crossing kind), and was afraid of all animals, though he never missed hunting season.

Kinda crazy, but I like it. Or is it, kinda crazy, SO I like it. Could be either.
