One more thing: excellent choice with the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Good stuff. Not quite Yazoo Pale Ale good, but up there.

My heart sinks every time I see an Amber Alert. I really hope everything turns out OK in this case.

White House says--Protestors are all wrong...

Ooooh. I think I may have a touch of that. Do they have a shot for it? -
First hand defensive incident stories
LagerHead replied to my82cam's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
All these stories kind of put a few holes in the anti-gun argument that gun owners are just waiting for an excuse to shoot someone. How did you all resist that irresistible temptation? -
The reason you won't see me pulled over while talking on the phone is, you won't see me talking on the phone while driving. At least not without a headset. You can do it responsibly, but the sad fact is, most people don't. They stick that thing to the side of their head and won't remove it to check their blind spots. I've been almost killed by cars more times than I care to count, and the one thing about 99% of those incidents have in common is someone talking on the phone. Coincidence? Maybe, but I seriously doubt it.

Nice bike ciphr. I am still planning on making it. I hope we have some decent weather.

All I wanna know is, where can I get one of those mugs? Those are awesome! EDIT: Never mind. I read the URL for www.battlemug.com off the bottom of the cup.

The 19th is the TGO Mid Tennessee motorcycle ride, so I'm out on that date. I could probably make the 20th though.

A lot of good tips on here. The target is a great tool, as stated. Also remember to practice your draw and sidestep. It will help you learn to quickly acquire a good site picture and fire accurately. (Thanks to Todd and Dustin at CIS). P.S. I have the XDm 40. Great shooting gun. If we ever meet at the range maybe we could swap for a few rounds for comparison. Also have an XD9SC.

You guys talk to brick walls much? I agree with what you're saying, but the idiots that do that stuff will still do it. You see, they're all smarter than you and I. It's like the old cliche: "Why is it that common sense is so uncommon?"

Every time I'm darn near killed by some obliviot, it's because they can't get off the phone long enough to check their blind spot. Someday somebody's gonna get hurt, whether or not I'm in an accident, if you know what I'm saying. And I think you do.

I look at it this way: First, the Steelers apparently haven't missed a beat since their Super Bowl victory. Palamalu was wicked fast, Roethlisberger was epic, etc. But how often do the Titans play a game like that in the first week? It's been a while, I think. They played a great game against a great team and darn near won it. So I think they're looking all right for this season.

Everybody's got their faults. We don't hold it against you though.

NRA vs. Adam Dread/Paul Helmke, UT Martin, 9/14
LagerHead replied to a topic in Events and Gatherings
If I hadn't bought Metallica tickets 3 months ago, I would be there. It's too bad that they have to ruin the whole week by showing that work of douchebaggery on the 17th. So much for objective debate. -
This is the big problem with political arguments. Some people only see the other side doing things that both do. Unless of course you don't consider the liberal Democrats and their complete lack of immigration laws as the same type cherry-picking. Of course that is just one example, but you get the point.

Arlington mayor parks update on Facebook...
LagerHead replied to G27's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Nice. Nothing like a fried to point out your mistakes. Back on topic, though. What's wrong with this man? Doesn't he like children? -
Was this one of your KATUSA's? My condolences to his family, friends, and comrades in arms.

I had never read that before. Just another example of why you should trust very few people. Case in point: A guy that used to live across the street from my uncle in Redwood City, CA was a Motocross racer, and a successful one. He owned two houses on the same street, just so he could house his 9 cars, including a Lamborghini Countach, Lamborghini LM002, a 60's era restored cougar, 40's era restored Harley with side car for his dog, etc. You get the point. He was loaded. Anyway, he put his trust in financial manager, who took everything and left the country, leaving the dude basically penniless. He had to sell both houses, the cars, everything to avoid total bankruptcy. Moral? Don't give anyone the keys to your castle.

S&W SW40VE. Jammed, double fed, and then jammed some more. Traded it for an XD40, which was then traded for an XDM40, both of which I really like. I also have an XD9SC. Again, great gun. No jams or anything out of any of the 3.

Arrest warrants issued for ACORN workers in Florida.
LagerHead replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
To be fair, there are lots of people with limited mobility, etc. who can't get to the polling place easily, and therefore need assistance registering and voting. Not to excuse these fart sniffers; just sayin'. -
Guns in parks law creates confusion among lawmakers
LagerHead replied to enfield's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
When is somebody going to file a lawsuit challenging the legality of opting out because of the "with a view to preventing crime" portion of the state law? -
Do you really have to ask.

I have an XD9SC as well. After I bought that I got the XD40 Service which I then traded for an XDM40. The XD9SC is very easy to shoot, and I too have not had a failure in probably just over 1,000 rounds. I pay no attention to what ammo I use for target shooting. I have fired everything from 115 grain to 165 grain though it without a single malfunction. It's pretty darn accurate - surprisingly so for a SC gun. The only complaint you might have is, if you really love a Glock trigger, this trigger will feel pretty mushy, and the trigger reset is about twice the Glock's. Or you can look at the bright side. It pulls very smooth, and in my opinion can be an asset as far as accuracy goes. Otherwise, what has been stated about the striker indicator and the chamber full indicator, are both nice features. When you combine that with the grip safety and trigger safety, it makes for a very nice and safe gun. I definitely would recommend it unless you just have to have that Glock trigger. If so, well, get a Glock.

Fines proposed for going without health insurance
LagerHead replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You're right, I have no idea. However I think that having 1300 to choose from might force a couple or more of these to offer up just a little bit extra at a lower price. Others that wanted to compete would have to do the same. The rest would go the way of the dodo. I know it's not that simple, but competition is always good for the consumer.
