I hope he's okay.

I gotta try out one of them Rugers. Haven't shot one yet. Oh, and welcome to TGO.

That's cool. Where did this take place?

Republican candidate proposes $1 trillion in spending cuts.
LagerHead replied to mav's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
He has an R behind his name because you can't get real traction running as a third party candidate. But he is definitely a Libertarian at heart. True. And because he would actually do it means he definitely isn't! -
Don't waste your time with Legends in Gatlinburg. Food is not very good. In fact when I ordered the Veal Parmesan the waiter said, "Don't order that." The chicken wasn't any better. Make sure you hit Log Cabin Pancakes or one of the many other pancake houses though. The Parrot and the Fox is a decent pub style place. People are really friendly too.

Tennessee Firearms Task Force Cancelled For Now
LagerHead replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We definitely don't need "one of our own," especially one with such visibility, making this kind of stink for us. Typical politician. -
God bless all those who serve and have served.

Felonious Monk speaks the truth. And not just about this subject.

I'll second JCJ. Nice looking subcompact. My Kimber is the same size and I love it. Especially since I put on the Hogue grips.

CHMR has two pistol lanes in their own "dugout," with I think a 15 or yard maximum. On the rifle side they have about 15 lanes with target frames as far as 100 yards. Charlie also provides water on hot days, coffee on cold ones, spotting scopes, sand bags, a bench rest or two. The "private" side of the range, behind Charlie's house, has five more lanes for shooting out to about 25 yards, plus the clay throwers. He hasn't completed the long range lanes yet because he is waiting for a part that has been promised to him numerous times. As far as I know he won't accept money for your wife or kids to shoot. For reference, the address is 2795 Owl Hollow Road, Franklin, TN.

Nice gun. I have an Ultra Carry II, not quite as nice, that I love. So if you don't love this you probably need therapy.

Nice. Yea, I love it, especially with the trigger kit. If you have any questions let me know.

+1 For Sig Sauer Customer Service
LagerHead replied to turkeydad's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
When I bought my Sig 556 they were giving a $300 cash rebate or $500 worth of gear from their site. I chose the latter and chose my items. One of them wasn't in stock and two promised dates came and went. When I called to change the item they let me change to an item that took me over $500 without batting an eyelash and sent it straight out. +1 for Sig. -
That's the luckiest guy that ever lived.

I actually realized that. My point was more to the rabid anti-gunners who make blanket statements like lower gun ownership = less crime. I also can't tell you how many times I have read that the U.S. has the highest murder and suicide rates in the world, neither of which are true. The article does however make a very valid point, directly refuting the antis' blanket statements. That study, along with others by the like of John Lott show the folly of gun control in this country. Because of the different socioeconomic factors that are present in this country as opposed to say, England or Switzerland, gun control just does not work.

Thought you might find this interesting

Especially not pleated pants. That is so 1990's! -
Please see "The West Memphis Three." Like they say in the UFC, never leave it in the hands of the judges.

Sigs rock. HK's are cool too, but they hate you because you suck. Seriously, I know Sig is pretty cool to their customers. I think I would ask some HK owners to weigh in on their customer service experience. With guns to evenly matched that could be the deal maker/breaker.

Respectfully, I think you're wrong. There are articles and "studies" that were debunked in the 90's that are still quoted ad nauseum by anti's. They latch on to the VPC, Brady, FSA, etc. propaganda like a starving leech and never let it go. For example, I know you've heard you are x times more likely to be murdered in your own home than to use your gun to defend your family. The "study" that produced that gem was conducted in a single county in Washington and excluded any home invasion that did not result in death. As we all know, Dr. Gary Kleck's research shows that only about 1% of defensive uses of guns result in a shot fired at all, meaning they potentially ignored 99% of data that refuted their findings. And despite this being pointed out years ago you still hear this quoted by anti's every time they start in on you.

The Sickness - Paul Anka (Disturbed cover) Tighten Up - The Black Keys Flash of the Blade - Iron Maiden One - Metallica Land of Confusion - Disturbed (Genesis cover) Click Click Boom - Saliva I Got a Woman - John Mayer (Ray Charles cover - just to remind me why I'm fighting ) Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers (Stevie Wonder cover) Bodies - Drowning Pool I guess that would be a good start.

I think this article is uncharacteristic of Brian's past work. In this one he links to VPC data, which is widely known to be as full of holes as Swiss cheese, but neglects to link to data that shows the deterrent effect of guns or anything supporting our side. He also refers to Harvard studies that show that higher gun ownership leads to higher crime rates but ignores Harvard studies that show the opposite. This article is definitely going to add fuel to the anti-gun fire.

Yea, the only real, appreciable difference between the two comes down to preference. The XDm is obviously much better looking but they shoot very similarly as far as I can tell.

My son would love this. I am going to make sure he sees this link so he can decide if he wants to use it in games he is working on.

Another interesting thing to note would be the difference between gun owners in general and those who have a carry permit. Or even people in general and those who have a carry permit. HCP holders nationwide tend to be far more law abiding than just about any other segment of society. I took the liberty of forwarding to you an email I authored during the "carry in parks" debates here in Nashville and other cities and counties statewide. I hope there is something in there you didn't know that will help you in your research and writing.
