  1. I just paid 21 bucks to ship something to MI. It was just average size box (was a box that some waders came in)and only weighed a couple pounds. It was through ups. Part of that was some 5 buck rural fee. I see some people on here shipping stuff for less than ten so I know there is a cheaper way. Any secrets to cheaper shipping rates?
  2. Likewise. Good thing the fishing is heating up here.
  3. Good grief. How much did you spend on gas
  4. I would love nothing more than to see Benton's go out of business. There are plenty of helpful lgs out there. I think catering to the uninformed is bad business especially in the long run.
  5. Went with the magpul mbus from eBay. Thanks for the recommendations. Now just to find some ammo who know how long that will take
  6. Probably looking at a fixed sight, but either one would be fine.
  7. I need one for less than 50 bucks. Recommend a decent one. Thinking about a carry handle but I'm not sure. I'm a novice on this stuff.
  8. I did notice this, but what can you do. That seems to be the norm these days. Been looking for a used one but they are hard to come by
  9. A lot of good points. I have heard nothing but good things about the naa. Space and weight is most important. I am just on the fence. I feel there are two camps/thoughts about the subject. 1. .22 is not enough fire power so its just best to not even bother 2. any gun is better than no gun. I can see both sides of the story but unfortunately you cannot get something for nothing when it comes to fire power and weight.
  10. I have really been toying with getting a naa mini 22lr just for cases when I cannot carry my 9mm. So times like running biking hiking or just when it's hot in the summer. Some times I feel that the outcomes should you ever actually have to use it would be worse than attempting to flea. Chances of stopping someone or something with a 22 doesn't seem ideal. I am thinking the chance of being sued for injuring someone would be more likely. I know I could get a 380 but I am thinking about times when that would even be to big. So are you better off with or without it?
  11. You don't have to have a powder measure, but it will not be forth reloading(time wise) if you don't. A scale is mandatory. Shell holders. some kind of loading tray, but you can make that if you want. unless you plan on buying new brass all the time a case trimmer.
  12. www.longrangehunting.com  great forum with more information than you would ever want to know.
  13. he's probably right.
  14. you may want to look at EAA revolvers. They are in the same price point as the rossi. From my experience with them, its been a good gun.
  15. my biggest complaint about the ruger is the way the magazine release is on the bottom of some models. I have shot my dads many times, but it is an older one. Which models have the release next to the trigger guard?     sweet smiths kieefer   I do really like the looks of those stainless slab side rugers tho. nice gun
  16. I haven't really considered the other styles like the sr22. I am more interested in the ones that you can mount a scope to. Thanks for all the imput, and I forgot about rimfire central. I'll check that out.
  17. Yea just doing some research on gunbroker and the rugers could probably be had close to my price range (used). I was just thinking they were a lot more. I'll second the cricket. I bought one in 22 magnum. Its been fun so far. no critters with it yet.
  18. I'm looking to get a decent semi auto .22 for plinking postly, but would like to have the ability to put a dot scope on it also. I'm mostly interested in the S&W 22a. Does anyone have experience with one. Also looking at the ruger mk II/III and buckmark. I would prefer to keep this purchase to less than 300ish bucks tho, but I'm open minded.
  19. they will not tax just .223 or 7.62. If they somehow pass a tax on ammo it will be some kind of across the board tax i would think. To many loop holes in taxing one caliber. I would simply make my AR something else.
  20. anyone have an idea when to expect .22 lr back in stock. I know they were in short supply long before the shooting.
  21. I have the kahr cw9 and really like it. Most of kahr 9mm are very thin, and there are several models to pick from.
  22. I was shooting off of bags and front rest, but it is a bolt action pistol. Its a little more difficult to shoot. I plan to get a better rest to hold it in place. Also, the scope that I put on it doesn't have parallax adjustments, its just set to 50 yards. I can tell there is considerable movement of the crosshairs when I move my head (at 100 yards), but I think I need to do some better testing.
  23. So I have a .22 magnum that I am just starting to get sighted in. The scope package says the parallax is set to 50 yards. It shoots hornady 30gr and remington 33gr well. I was getting a tight cluster at 50 yards. When I move back to 100 yards the group spreads out to at least 4 inches. There does seem to be a fair amount of parallax at that distance. Is this normal for a scope set at 50 yards? (its not a high end scope and I'm no expert on parallax)   Could this cause this much variation?  When I get a chance I'm going to try another scope, but I just wanted some imput.
  24. Thats a good option I didn't think about the folding stock. Dolmite thats def some cool stocks, I think I may have to get something in the works.
  25. Ok im sure some of you can interpret this law better than I can. Would it be legal to take a standard 10/22 reciever with an 16" rifle barrel and replace the stock with a charger stock?
