    What would you do?

I've thought about this before and calling the police and offering to dispatch the animal is what I would do.
  6. I have absolutely no plans to "add a gun" to anything, that being said, I remember a criminal case a few years back from Phoenix Arizona, in which the shooter was convicted largely based on the fact that he used hollow points in the shooting. It was supposed to be a self defense shooting, it was ruled otherwise, but that's not the real point. The point is after the trial at least one member of the jury was interviewed and said that the fact that the guy used hollow points was why he convicted the guy of murder, because hollow points are designed to kill people. When a jury is involved the law only counts for so much. Edit: Here's the quote from the juror: Elliot: The whole hollow point thing bothered me. That bullet is designed to do as much damage as absolutely possible. It’s designed to kill.

    Sad

That is a tragedy. God be with the family and lets hope that he pulls through.
  8. ARMs are also great for a property that you don't plan to stay in for long as well. There's a great place for them, but it's not long term.
  9. I'm surprised I haven't seen those sytes in a local shop around here.
  10. I don't think disclosure is the issue. Whether the liberals want to admit it or not, pretty much everyone knows better, they just choose to borrow money that they cannot pay back anyways. I'm with Rabbi, the market will take care of this problem naturally if left alone. I had an economics teacher that showed us many examples of what happens when the government tries to solve an economic problem by going against the market. None of them turned out well (rent controlled apartments, anyone?)

  12. I'll let you know next time we get together.
  13. Justaguy: We did that too, but when we shot at moving golfballs we called it "squirrel ball." Golf balls hold up surprisingly well to .45 and .40, they can take about 3 or 4 direct hits before hey get too mangled. Used brass also makes great tees, and if you kneel down to get a nice flat angle you can really make them fly.
  14. That curveball game is actually a lot like caveball, except with guns and the ball doesn't come back at you (hopefully!)
  15. So a friend of mine just completed his own indoor range, and we were shooting inside because of the rain. We got tired of shooting paper, so we rounded up some old golf-balls and invented a game called caveball (we call his indoor range "the cave"). Caveball starts with a golf ball placed 10 feet from the shooter. The shooter shoots the golf ball with the goal of moving the ball from the "tee" to the "goal" at the end of the 50' range. Each shooter has five shots per round, and the person that wins the most rounds out of five wins the game. It was the most fun that I've had shooting in a long time, gotta love a rainy day for coming up with new ways to entertain yourself. We're thinking of having a monthly caveball tournament, so if anyone is interested in coming out to Fayette county to play a silly madeup plinking game let me know, it'd be loads of fun to have some new faces come out and shoot.
  16. Given the situation I wouldn't even draw my weapon. Without more information I don't think it's smart to go into any situation guns-a-blazin'. When I took my carry permit course the instructor told of a well meaning armed citizen that shot two undercover FBI agents in the back as they exchanged fire with a well dressed criminal. That story has really stuck with me as a reminder that things aren't always what they seem, and I'm not gonna shoot anyone unless I know exactly what's going on.
  17. I never said she deserves an Academy Award.
  18. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were Deists. "Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law." -Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper, February 10, 1814 This is from the Treaty of Peace and Friendship that the US adopted in 1797 with Tripoli under John Adams' presidency: Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries. Thomas Paine spent much of his time writing pamphlets criticizing the Christian religion, and many of the "Christian" founding fathers were not particularly active. George Washington never took communion, and eventually started skipping church altogether on the days that it was offered.
  19. Sounds like you might have just made a new best friend.
  20. It's a Babe! :edit: and some rifles and stuff too.
  21. These games are hard on a laptop
  22. I think the 1st amendment was written to protect non-Christian religions. The founding fathers were not all Christians, but they all realized that the government has no place deciding which religion is correct. A man's faith is something of his own, and Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, atheist, etc... should make no difference in one's inherent rights. That being said, everyone has the right to choose their own way as long as it doesn't harm others or keep them from pursuing their own happiness, but when someone's "religion" requires them to impose their beliefs onto others, sometimes violently, then that is wrong no matter what god you believe in.
  23. Jim, do you reload? If so I have a lot of .270 brass that I need to get rid of if you have anything to trade.
  24. I agree with you guys. The dog did what the dog is supposed to do.
  25. Welcome to TGO. I'm another UofM student, Junior Philosophy Major. How long have you worked at classic arms, I've never seen a young guy there.
