Not been to Murfreesboro or Cookeville lately? Jeez, it's like they've been GIVING away houses there.

If you guys think Knoxville is behind in infrastructure, take a drive though downtown Nashville or Chattanooga sometime. Both have only three lanes of interstate running each way through their downtown areas. Both are extremely complicated by the numerous uses of bridges, which would require replacing when the interstate adds lanes. I'd bet that'd be a 10 year project in either city.

TN is restricted from borrowing money for road projects, which is a good thing, IMO. But it's a bit past critical & quickly advancing upon emergency, IMO.

Don't spread this around too much, all the yankees moving in here will be voting to change the laws so more roads can be built quicker.

When I had a GS in NY a buddy of mine told me about a retired NJ State Police Lt. that retired to Newburg NY with a gun parts business. He said he saw his shop & talked to the guy. Apparently, this Lt was in charge of all stolen firearm recoveries in NJ and was tasked with destroying them as per BATF regs. So he destroyed the gun's SN frames and "discarded" the remainder into his personal trash can. Needless to say, he had everything from Luger parts to God knows what all for sale out of his NY shop.  Giving guns back to owners dosent have to be a catering service especially in those places that dont believe in the 2nd as a rule. Besides how do you think these guys get parts?

some of this took place at Metro Nashville Police some years ago. Not sure if it was stopped our not. I saw many ziplocks with everything except the frame.

  3. One of my favorites! I've got two of them. Pretty dang accurate as I'v made consistent hits at 100 yards. They really fling the brass. If using surplus ammo be sure to do a thorough cleaning as even ammo listed as non corrosive will still be somewhat corrosive. They are great shooters and they are very well made with a roller locking breech. My thumb will sometimes engage the safety under recoil so make note. Too bad there's no more 10cent ammo for them anymore.

Is this a "motion" sensor?  I did not want a motion sensor, every dog, cat, racoon, opossum and the like will set it off. The one poppop and we use is set off by a steel vehicle, uses magnetism.

No, it uses an underground sensor. The MURS refers to the frequency it transmits the signal on. MURS will do a longer distance that some. My sensor is almost half mile from my base station and through some dense woods and not line of sight. It's right on the edge of working. I just put a better antenna on it and that has helped. I also just converted it off the 123 batteries to an external gel cell. Don't know yet how long it's going to last on a charge but those 123s were getting pricey and would only last about 3 months. Less in the winter.

  5. We have a Dakota MURS system. Our driveway is about 2400' and we installed it just off the road. We have a gravel drive with tactical potholes so it takes newcomers a little over a minute to get to the house. Plenty of time to "get ready."  Have used it for several years. Originally had a wired version closer to the house, but lightening was bad about frying the electronics. This one has been much better. I actually have it tied into a Homeseer system so I get a text message anytime it's activated in addition to the chime.

    Well lemme see here.... 🤔

I'm sitting there having dinner and suddenly a rowdy crowd of protesters appears and is backing me up against a wall and screaming in my face.  Yeah, I'd think it would be reasonable to feel threatened enough to go into self defense mode.

And if I were him I'm thinking I wished I had a bigger gun. I imagine he was heckled about that.

  7. With today's market you should probably move forward. If the down spouts are the trouble and often they are, it can take a long time for the moisture level to get back to normal.

If you did smell a musty odor you're probably OK. I had to paint some of my block on the inside with that ugh waterproof paint. Did the trick but was a pain to prep.

  8. I'm not a huge fan of snl, but it was on while I was doing something else last night. About half way through the ad it got my attention. At first I thought it was a snl spoof ad, but it wasn't. It ran again later in the show.

I was just kinda surprised they would run a network TV ad, and they would choose to air it during snl. Wouldn't have guessed it to be a target audience for them.

I think it would hold up to firing just fine.  And I also think that if I had it in a stock with a barrel band, it would have likely been just fine as well.   The issue was that the front sight hit the ground.  The stock was still in the car.   So it was pushing down on the front of the barrel and up on the back at the receiver.   Well, here, watch this and ignore my voice, I was sick. Like I said, I think I can epoxy this back together and make it work.   And I think that I might try and reinforce that corner of the receiver with epoxy on my future prints before I do final assembly.

Is the print file out there or did you whip one up on your own?

Speaking of brass, I remember years ago when someone on RimfireCentral made their own receiver from a chunk of brass.  Beautiful rifle.

So I've been working on this myself.  Getting the printer setup correctly is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT for these prints.  My first couple of receivers were out of spec to the point of not being usable at all.   Once I got my printer issues ironed out, I printed a mostly beautiful receiver.  I assembled the whole thing and took it to work to show a coworker.  It fell and hit the ground in the perfect way that it broke the receiver.   I think I can fix it with some two part epoxy but I haven't given it a go yet.  I also printed another receiver just in case.  Maybe I can get that one finished this weekend so I can test fire it.  If I do, I'll throw up a video here.

I've also been working on printing a Glock lower.

I am really interested in this. Curious, if it broke so easily by dropping how do you think it will hold up long term?
