Ever try to use your mix as a propellent in that pvc? Just wondering if it would work.

Never did. It was more of a flash powder and never did think of it. We were more interested in making noise. Did make some smoke bombs. At some point we came across a huge surplus smoke can. Seems like it was gallon paint can size. Man it smoked forever.

  2. I loved blowing stuff up as a kid and would mainly tear open firecrackers to get the powder. I was an NRA member way back then and received a mailer from their book club, or some such. One of the books was The Chemistry of Powder and Explosives. I ordered it and never had to tear open another firecracker! The secret ingredient was aluminum dust. I found an old arts supply store and they sold it it one pound cans. It was kind of expensive but it was the trick. After that we graduated up to schedule 80 pvc and made some real noise.

I purchased my kit from a vendor at one of the Knoxville gun shows.  If someone wanted to be completely off the books, I suppose they could pay cash.  Anyways, purchasing from them allowed me to see different sizes of tubes, and the differences in baffles.  Since the one I built is for .22, I went with stainless steel for the baffle next to the blast chamber, and aluminum alloy for the other six baffles.  Overall the fit is very good and it looks like a commercial suppressor.   Their kits come in various lengths and diameters, depending upon the caliber of the build.  I don't know if they have a website, but their e-mail address is solventtubes (at) gmail.com  They mentioned they do a number of larger gunshows.  I'm very happy with mine and it is dedicated to a Ruger precision rimfire rifle, with a night vision scope.

Just picked up a similar kit at the Lebanon show today. Same guy. What diameter drill did you use? I'm going to submit my form on Monday

  4. Got there about 10:30. Good crowd about 50/50 on masks it seemed. Bulk ammo was pricey, boxed self defense ammo was about what you'd expect at the gshop. Some tables were lined up with 3 or 4 waiting to complete paperwork. Walking around guns were priced kinda nutty. I saw a lot of cash changing hands. I'd say the vendors will be happy tonight.

  6. There has been a feeding/fighting frenzy over the last couple of weeks. I've had as many as 7 with 3-4 feeding at once on the same feeder, which never happens.

The last couple of days I'm down to one or two. Guess most have headed south.

  7. I went to the Wilson County Fair last night, man was it crowded. Lots of PD there. They really seem to have the parking set up nicely. Lots of good stuff to do there, I can see why they win national awards.

Did notice their no weapons posting as I went in.

The “NO TREPASSING” sign was shot with a Colt Monitor in the film.

yes, that was a technical slip up. There were a couple of others I think I caught, but don't recall now. I just figured the pansys at Netfilx didn't care anyway.
