I haven't strapped on my pack since going to Maine in 2001. I might be interested. Great idea.

That only applies to immigrants was the way I understood it. -
Any thoughts on a suppressed Ruger Mark III?

Are you doing that on Monday? -

So when can I come play? haha. I'm glad you asked this because I hope to be picking up a Mark II this weekend and have already been looking at the TacSol uppers. I will go detachable but only because I have several .22's that I shoot frequently. -
If you want to sell it, where are you located? Ever since I bought mine, all of my friends are looking for them.
-
Definitely better than in the past. By the way. To the OP, I was looking for an AR upper and tried to talk the guy down on the bushmaster a3 he had. He had 599 on it and wouldnt take less than 580. I walked over to the table one aisle over and talked that guy down to 650 on a complete bushmaster ar15. I didnt want, need or have enough to buy the complete rifle but I wanted to see what the difference would be. It was ridiculous. That is why I hate gun shows in Memphis.

Then Ruger should lower the cost of this rifle. With other more AR like rifles out now at a lower price point, I feel that Ruger is going to have a hard time selling these. The more I look at it, that looks like its just a basic nordic kit. Off the top of my head, you can piece this gun together for around the same price. The Nordic kit is 225 10/22 is 197 Hogue pistol grip is 20 Hogue Free float rail is 75 Stock of your choice is ~ 75 That comes out to around 590. If you went this way, you could then swap back forth between a standard 10/22 carbine and the "SR-22." To me, its just not worth it. I have always liked the Nordic kit but if its going to cost the same, I would just rather do it myself.

Looks nice. Nordic has been making a nice stock kit for a while but this is definitely a new kit. The MSRP is a little higher than what I would pay but if I could get one for around 400 then I would definitely get one after I get an M&P15-22. A big turn off for a lot of people is going to be that this isn't more like an AR. The reason a lot of people are buying these .22 EBR's is for training and thats just not happening with this rifle.

If you can settle for a 16ish inch barrel, CMMG has bargin bin rifles for 599.95. Check those out
-
Plus an 800 dollar rifle is still more than 400 bucks and you have to switch back and forth. Noone will ever be able to convince me to ditch my want of a M&P15-22. I am just waiting on the threaded barrel version to come out and to see if they are going to release a Magpul edition.

Mailed mine off today! -
Because I love .22. It is by far, my favorite caliber to shoot. When .223 drops to 2 cents per shot, I will change my mind but until then... EDIT: Not to mention that the S&W is about half the cost of a real AR.

As a huge .22 fan, I agree. Go pickup a smith & wesson M&P15-22.

Thanks guys. From the information here and elsewhere, I decided that I just dont have enough money yet to get my upper. I am going to go ahead and order one with a free float YHM rail. I decided to get chrome lining because its not that expensive and seems like it could be cheap insurance. 1:9 will be fine for me since I don't plan on shooting anything heavy. Ill probably stick to 55gr stuff most of the time. Thanks again for all the help! Ill be sure to update later this month when I actually order my upper.

I put that in the field that says position on the first page but is Title asking for the same thing? -

Alright, someone help me. I want to get this right. On the signature line, there is a field for Title. What is that? Thanks Chris -
Hello from right across the street in Raliegh.
-
I'm fine with that. I built this lower myself so taking it apart is no big deal.
-
Likewise. Plus, I have had some guns that just liked being a little bit dirty. I think its all down to the gun though.
-
I have a lot of .22's and seem to buy more all the time so a dedicated .22 makes sense for me. I will look into your recommendations and remember to stay away from the Mite. Thanks everyone.

Ok great. So I can definitely throw a long barrel on a SBR registered lower. That's great news. Thanks guys.

I'm only lacking a complete upper to finish my first AR. However, I need help. I have several questions that I'm hoping you guys can help me with. First let me say that this will not be a bench gun or anything like that and will likely never see anything past 200 yards or so. Optics aren't important right now and I'm not really doing this for distance shooting. Now, on to my questions. 1. Is a chrome lined barrel worth it? 2. What twist should I go with? 1:7 or 1:9 seem to be the common ones. 3. How hard is it to change the handgaurds? If its pretty difficult, I will need to go ahead order one with a quad rail because I hate the look of a flat top with a handguard on it. I think thats pretty much my only questions right now. Oh yeah, Ill be going the 16 inch barrel route for now and probably buying a second upper (SBR) sometime next year. Thanks for the advice guys.

I'm in Memphis as well and take mine to the range everytime I go. Just look for me. You'll see a 10/22 and a C9 with me everytime and they both work just fine. I honestly can't complain about my C9 at all.

So Christmas is approaching and shortly after that is tax day. I've been thinking that these two "special" times of year would be great chance to pick up a couple of new toys. My intention is to pick up a couple of suppressors. I'd like to get one for my AR and one for my .22's. So I'd like to hear your opinions on different models. For my .22's, I'd like to keep the cost down. I don't want or need to spend 650 bucks plus stamp on a suppressor that will be on guns worth less than half that. Thanks for the opinions guys.

I'm on the cusp of finishing my first AR and a 10.5 inch barrel has become increasingly attractive to me. My question is, if I complete the requirements for an SBR, can I throw a longer barrel on it every once in a while if I wanted to?
