Going old school, look for Lost, Fringe, or Prison Break. Older than that: X-Files (which I'm currently watching for the first time).

Fringe was so good.  I loved that show.  I should rewatch it.

Ghosts - The US version. Stoopid and silly, but fun

Have you watched the original?  I watched it first and was annoyed they just rehashed the same story lines.  But they’ve diverged now and it’s easier to treat them as separate shows.  I like both the UK and US versions.

Agreed. I've not even completed the last seasons of Yellowstone. My wife loves it though, so I have to listen as she watches.

As far as GOT, can't tell you how many times we've watched it. Wife thinks it's the best ever.

House of Dragons is interesting to me. Hasn't gotten to the level of GOT, but is very good. Matt Smith is great in it. Hatted his stint as the Doctor. Strange.

I hated Matt Smith at first but by his second season I was great with him as the Doctor.   When I rewatched it, I realized my hate was just sadness at losing Tennent.   But I’m the opposite, I can’t stand Matt Smith in HoD.   I’m going to attribute this one to knowing him as the Doctor and now seeing him playing a character from Alabama.   Sometimes I hate when actors I love from specific roles play a character we aren’t supposed to like

I'm tired of Beth Dutton and all the memes saying Rip is a real man because he supports his woman no matter what.  If Rip were real and had a two digit IQ, he would drop that unstable b*tch like a bad habit.

Beth is the weakest point of the show for me.  She creates as many problem as she solves.  I’ll be fine if they ever choose to kill her off.

    Leverage it is on FreeVee

Leverage: Redemption - follow on to Leverage that is currently filming Season 1 in can and most of season 2 also on Freevee
I think if you have prime  you can get FreeVee shows without ads

I enjoyed Leverage and watch Redemption.  In the same vane are some other favorites like Psych and The Librarians.  The TNT/USA network shows from that era were pretty good.

Any recommendations for a dash cam which is constantly recording every moment and allows for simple intuitive history viewing on the camera itself while in the vehicle?

Constantly recording may be the hard part.  That much video will destroy storage space. Perhaps just setup a GoPro or action cam.

My beliefs concerning this incident are more in line with these two takes I found online. Also, DOD mentioned that they were able obscure or relocate assets in the balloon’s path. Intelligence gathering seems to be the most logical reason for allowing the balloon drift across the country after assessing it posed no imminent threat to the country.

But it’s more fun to blame Biden and be pissy.  Someone said if Trump was still in office it would have been shot down.  But if he didn’t, I’d bet his supporters would be saying the same as you and calling him smart.

I just waved at it when I went outside and went on with my life.  I’m not interested in starting a new Cold War with our superiors.

You may find this guy with Washington Gun Law  interesting as he breaks down the rule on braces.  He's also got other videos on the brace lawsuit, gun trusts, etc - most are typically no more than about 10 minutes in length.

I’ve only seen one clip from one of his videos where he says that a trust can’t own non nfa items.  That may be so in Washington, but it’s not here so I clicked away and wrote him off as a poor source of information.

I worked for the state of Tennessee for 7 years after working private industry for 12 prior. I’m the biggest opponent of “it’s been done this way for years”. My point was that I don’t think we can expect change without intentional implementation. We shouldn’t say you’re responsible for standards after action that we’ve not held you to prior to that action. I think there is culpability and extreme negligence here I’m just not sure it’s being applied in the manner I agree with.  If we were to separate the parties and replace Baldwin the actor with Keanu Reeves the actor, who we know is proficient with firearms and done extensive training. If he is handed a “prop” gun (terrible terminology btw), declared clear, and the same result happens, is he being charged with manslaughter? My whole premise here is that I’m not sure he would be. Maybe I’m wrong and he would.

By my standard, he’s charged the same.   By your standard, he’s more culpable than Baldwin because he has had training and knew better.

My argument is that no adult on this planet can claim ignorance when they point a gun at someone and pull the trigger.  Negligence perhaps.

If all the reports are true that Baldwin disregarded safety and repeated requests for additional training then I agree that he has a significant level of culpability as a PRODUCER.

As an ACTOR if he ignored or skipped the safety training and personal safety briefing then he should be held accountable on that level.

I think several here don’t understand how the movie industry has worked for decades and to expect someone, again just on the actor side, to do something outside of what they’ve done historically is a bit of a reach. The scene was set for the actor to receive a weapon, point it at the camera and fire it. I agree that there should be multiple levels of redundancy in the safety process but the actor shouldn’t be the final step. The final redundant security check should happen at the prop level. The reason being is that the level of distraction and mental stress on performing a scene is significant and would lead to failures in the process simply due to mental distractions.

I honestly don’t care about Baldwin one way or the other. I’m more concerned about culpability being placed at appropriate levels. If he was being charged with manslaughter as a producer and something less as an actor I probably wouldn’t have even opined at all.

y’all can hit the dislike button all you want it’s just the internet. I’ve been here a long time and not too often I’m on the opposite side of the majority opinion. C’est la vie

“It’s been done this way for years” should not be a defense.  As a matter of fact, it’s one of the worst arguments I can think of.  I understand what you are saying and where you are coming from but that doesn’t make it right and doesn’t mean that we should continue functioning that way.

I'm thinking now is a great time to renew my GOA membership.

I'm starting to think this won't stand. I just don't see how the ATF can defend the fact that they told us these braces were fine not once, but twice. There are now companies devoted to manufacturing braces. Who will buy a brace after this? The ATF's decision could cost jobs.  It's completely ridiculous.

That hasn’t mattered the two times that they determined bump stocks were machine guns and it won’t matter now. It also didn’t matter when the government instituted what we now refer to as Prohibition.

This is one of my hang-ups also. I have a boat in TN but have to drive five miles of KY roads to get there. I assume this would still be breaking federal law?

You aren’t breaking any laws (to my understanding).  You do not need to file a 5320.20 to cross state lines.  You need to file a 5320.20 to cross state lines & stay the night.   An example, you are traveling to Texas for a hunt.  You file your 5320.20 for Texas but you don’t also need to file one for Arkansas because you are just passing through.  However, if you stay the night in Arkansas, you’d have to file one there too.

Why is everyone here so “ok” with Baldwin being charged? Because of his politics? Or did I miss something?

I still stand by the fact that these people are actors paid to act. To expect them to be proficient in gun safety is beyond the scope of their obligation. The armorer however was hired for that EXACT purpose and she failed on multiple levels leading to the death of a cinematographer. I guess I’m just on an island here by myself with those opinions

I don’t care about his politics.   Im okay with him being charged because we preach the four rules and the liability that comes along with those.  To let him off undermines that teaching.

I don’t care who they, if they have a gun in their hand, they are responsible for anything that happens involving that gun.  I’d say the same for a sword.  Or a lawnmower.  You are responsible for your actions.  I go back to a previous remark, there is no reason for him to point a gun at anyone.   Not a soul.  That is on him.  No one can plead ignorance of that gun law. Pointing a gun at people is dangerous.

She utterly failed to protect the city from violent protests in 2021, and nearly 700 people have suffered violent deaths in Memphis over the past 2 years. She oversaw diversity quota hiring of officers that subverted established police minimum standards and background qualifications. I believe all five of the officers initially fired in the Tyre Nichols incident were hires under those reduced hiring standards.

A lot of your post was accurate but you missed the mark on this part.  I don’t recall these violent protests.  I remember the city being peaceful by the national standard of the time.   As for the hiring standards, nothing has changed since she took control in June of 2021.  And all of the officers involved were hired between March 2017 and August 2020, nearly a year before her tenure began.

I have no problem lambasting her for any role she played, but it’s not necessary to throw dirt on her that she didn’t earn.  She’s earned enough on her own.

    1.  Got to find out why they stopped him guys. They said reckless driving which can rise to a felony in TN.

    2.  No one will not be able to find out much about this incident until all the evidence is in including autopsies and all evidence. Branca is right, most people are looking at this emotionally and emotion will play "NO" part in applying the laws or facts of this case inside the in the future court room.

    3.  Certainty not as many as have been let go, fired, or laid off, whatever that means in this situation. I have only seen 1 so far and that is the head kicker.

    4.  Clearly this guy was resisting arrest, and they were in a fight to cuff his arms behind his back.

    5.  most of these officers will get their jobs back with back pay if they want them.

    1.  Absolutely.  it's going to be important to see if the videos from the dashcams and street cams in the area corroborate the officer's story.  Part of the story doesn't make sense.  The officer accuses Tyre, in both the video and the leaked report, of driving down the wrong side of the road and attempting to run into squad cars.  Yet, he gets just a block down the street and stops at a red light with his blinker on and no oncoming traffic (from the dash cam in video 1)?   Why would someone do that?  It doesn't add up.  And I've really not heard anyone discuss that.  None of the MPD higher ups have acknowledged any evidence of Tyre driving recklessly.  If it exists, I'm sure we will see it in court.

    2.  A lot of Branca's argument is predicated on not having autopsy results.  He takes the officers word that Tyre is "on something" and accepts it as fact until proven otherwise.  Like I said in point one, there is still a lot of questions that need answered and we are likely going to have to wait for the legal teams to present those answers in court.

    3.  I think Branca missed the other two that were complicit in the one officer's actions.  They held Tyre for the other officer.  That makes them co-conspirators or whatever terms the court will use.  The charges may be less for them but they aren't innocent.

    4.  This statement only matters if the arrest is found to be justified.  Which goes back to statement one.

    5.  This assumes that they did not violate MPD policy.  I don't know MPD policy well enough to make such a bold statement.
