My carry to work and most outings with the family is a standard Hellcat.  If I am somewhere that I'm not terribly worried about printing it would be a Glock 19.5 with RMR and XC1 light.

    Printing is an internet myth.

Don’t know why the video was deleted, but here’s a news article covering the subject.

    From the article.

“Under the majority’s rule, the defendant wins by default whenever the government fails to prove that a statute unambiguously criminalizes the defendant’s conduct,” Higginson wrote.

yessir.  That’s the way it should work.

New old school!  I love it.  Actually, would not mind at all to add an A2 and even an A1 to my collection.

During Desert Storm. I deployed with a what I'd call a hybrid.  It was an A1 with the round A2 handguards and A2 heavy barrel, but with an A1 receiver.  When we deployed through Ft. Bragg, they took all our old A1s and repaired and upgraded them. Amazingly enough, they did that in a matter of two or three weeks.  I thought that was phenomenal feat considering we were a battalion of 760 personnel!

Newish.  The aimpoint is the newest thing on the rifle and that’s still at least 20 years old.  I love old a1 and a2 rifles.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy all the newest tactical stuff but I love the old big guys too.

I’ve stated my support for EVs in the past for where they’re practical. That said the more I read, the more I think that hydrogen fuel cells might be the better path. Regardless of what becomes the predominant method, it’s going to have to be undergirded with a massive amount of nuclear power generation. Solar/wind likely won’t ever be up to the task.

There are or were several hydrogen powered vehicles on the market a few years back.  I’ve still yet to see a hydrogen fueling station.  I assume they were popular in the heavily populated places like LA but the rest of the country wasn’t ready.  And the fear mongering about hydrogen will have most consumers terrified.

This forum really likes to fuss about electric vehicles. I've never felt like someone was forcing me to buy an EV. All the car lots here in town are still selling gas vehicles. I'll keep my 21 year old truck for now.

For now.  But federal mandates along with company declarations will have the lots looking quite different by the end of the decade.

Any of y’all pair up a 3x with your Aimpoint PRO red dot? What mounting system works best?

I’ve never been a fan of magnifiers but primary arms ran theirs on sale for 40 bucks before Christmas.  I’m giving it a go behind a compm2.  I need to order a mount though because the one I have is a little tall.  Unfortunately the PA flip to side is out of stock right now.

  7. It’s kind of a catch 22.   No one will invest in the infrastructure until the demand is met.  And lot of people don’t want to buy until the infrastructure exists.  This is part of the reason that the government is pushing the mandates that they are.  Is it right?   Nah.  But the electric future is coming.

I’m a hot rodder at heart but I’ve considered an EV.  One major hurdle for me, and possibly a lot of other people is that my house is not setup for it.  In order to add a charger, I’d have to swap my aged fuse panel for a modern breaker box.  Ive gotten some quotes for that and that’s gonna add an additional 3 grand at least to the price of my car.  I’m not ready or willing to do so.

  8. Without all the maintenance, all adjustable gas blocks become fixed gas blocks.

im a fan of SLR in general. But even their adjustable will carbon up and become fixed.

Wonder if he still has a job there?

I’ve worked in broadcasting.  It’s really gonna be up to management.  Younger management will recognize that it is great publicity.  Older management is gonna be uptight and at least reprimand.

  10. 1985 Honda CRX - means nothing to almost everyone but it was my first car.

1989 Mercury Grand Marquis.  My mom’s car that i totaled.  Someone ran a light in front of me.  Again, nothing special but I love the panther platform and they don’t make cars like that anymore.

2010 Mercury Grand Marquis.  My grandfathers car.  I inherited it and traded it for an escape to give to my mom so she could get in and out easier.  Again, I love the panther platform.

    1994 Ford F150.  My dad’s truck.

1974 Ford Bronco.  Previous owner did a garbage repair on the rockers and I wasn’t in a position to deal with the rust so I sold it.

2002 Ford Mustang GT.  My race car.  I miss racing.

2012 Ford F150.   Sold it because I wanted to pay some bills.  Then truck prices skyrocketed and I’m priced out of a decent truck.  I miss my truck.

It’s a movie that takes place at a Christmas Party. That in and of itself does not make it a Christmas movie.

Okay.  But the fact that it’s about a father trying to reunite with his family and deliver a Christmas present does make it a Christmas movie.

The entirety of the events that take place at Nakatomi plaza are just the trials along the journey.  The real story is that a broken down old cop got to be with his family for a holiday.

I work with a system. There is a lot of things you can't do. It's impossible. Absolutely no way. What they don't expect is when I change the parameters of the question.  You can't change logs for example. I show them the very colorful language in the logs and then ask them how a very expensive piece of equipment has an opinion on Joe Biden. I'm a very difficult person to deal with. LOL

I've also used equipment from one manufacturer to control equipment from a different manufacturer. I've had the engineers standing there telling me it can't be done as I'm demonstrating how it works. He was stunned. Looked at me and said that's impossible.

Someone programmed it to purge data.

They can program in not to purge data, or change it to purge once a decade.

Someone told it a case has to be attached to the plate.

That sounds easy to get around.  Tell it that that rule is no longer valid. Attach your target plate to a random case then remove it. Put the thing in test mode

I can promise you that some people already know how to get around it.

I've buddied up to engineers and programmers just enough for them to slip up and tell me something they shouldn't. LOL. At that point it's "let the games begin". There's been no telling how many software updates and equipment redesigns I've caused.

They may be the best thing out there. They may save lives. They will solve crimes. Just don't tell they can't be abused.

    People will find a way.

By the way, it's part of my job to expose the weaknesses of a widget. They fix anything I can find. Nothing in malicious, but I do have fun with it, and I hope it's saved people from harm. None of this is in an area that can violate someone's rights either.

I never once said that the system was infallible.  I only pointed out how it’s currently being used.  I don’t know the system and haven’t seen the programs it runs or anything.  I only know how those calls are going out and if an officer wanted to use it maliciously, it would be difficult to fake one.  They would have to file a report, send it to dispatch who is then going to verify the report with internal and external sources before they send officers on the call.   NCIC stuff is heavily regulated and I know the person that runs it takes her job very seriously.

again, none of that prevents misuse.  And I’m not a camera supporter.  I’m pretty against the nanny state.  I’m only commenting on how something is currently used and the only opinion I’ve offered until this point was about one individual’s character.

Say a LEO flags the plate of their spouse or the person they think is having an affair with their spouse so they can track them. That is an obvious misuse and should result in criminal charges and the loss of their job.

I don’t know about every jurisdiction but in Memphis this isn’t really possible without losing the job and charges.  A plate has to be in the NCIC system for the plate reader to flag it.  The only way to get it into NCIC is to have some type of report against it, usually stolen.

There is a camera at 64/Germantown that will send you some hate mail every time you run the red light.  Ask my wife how she knows 😜

Those aren’t the LPR cameras.  The LPR cameras are called Flock and they are dome shaped.   The speed cameras and red light cameras are a completely separate system.

  16. Handled one in a shop a couple days ago.  The trigger is probably the best m&p trigger I’ve ever touched.   It’s really not bad.

the texture is a little rough for a carry piece so expect your clothes to get torn up.  And on the grips, I didn’t get to swap panels out but the plastic inserts seem to bulge and make the grip larger than it needed to be for my hand.  There may be a panel in the box that fits me better but I dunno.
