  1. Just last week I renewed mine with a change of address from Loudon County to Sullivan County........ No problem at all.
  2. If the place wasn't posted and I was in that situation there is no way I would allow any dipweed to perform a search on myself or my wife. I would explain to them that they will have to get a police officer or deputy to do any search and I certainly would never go there again. What they charge for a movie and a bucket of popcorn is more of a crime than me trying to be safe especially at night with the "other" folks come out to play.
  3. Someone on another forum had written about just that. He said he had to contact the security folks at the aquarium. They then took his firearm and locked it up until he was ready to leave. As for the Titanic exibit...... not sure.
  4. Good to hear your daughter is okay after her ordeal. Hard to imagine a financial institution that's so casual about their security systems that it takes a 4th time before they open their eyes. My advice to your daughter......... get the hell out of there...... fast.
  5. I can't vouch for the Springfield but the warrenty and customer service at smith & wesson is first rate. You should go with what you feel comfortable with. Try some different brands, models and calibers at a firing range that rents.
  6. Even though we can carry open in TN. I feel concealed is the way to go since in many cases we retain the element of surprise not to mention a perp sneaking up behind us and relieving us of our firearm.
  7. Huge ones at my sons place..... thinking maybe a tazar.....
  8. Pepper spray ....... Like you I hear this all the time "oh he won't bite" After being chomped by a german shepard " that would never bite" I take the phrase as meaningless.
  9. I haven't been in a situation where I had to unholster a gun but I have had two instances where I wish I had. The first instance happened years ago when myself and a friend were beat up by a gang of about 30. Ended up with a fractured skull that time. The second episode happened years later when an apparently buzzed meth-head pulled me off the sidewalk into an alley and showed me his knife with the intent of removing me of my cash. During that period there weren't any handgun carry laws, in Minnesota that is. After moving here I obtained my HCP and use it. So many people I talk to have never been in these types of situations and usually say it will never happen to them........ but their wrong. It can happen to anyone at anytime. I wasn't expecting it when it happened to me but I know better now. There's some real nasty people out there.
  10. About a year and a half ago I sent my sw990L to Smith & Wesson in complete form minus the magizines. They had sent me the shipping label with instructions to ship via Fed Express. I did have to inform the people at Fed Ex but other than that it was a painless procedure. Two weeks later it was delivered to my home by FedEx. Based on that I would assume your good to go shipping a barrel.
  11. Sounds like good news for all the thieves, scoundrals and devil worshippers in New Hampshire. Don't know what kind of people they elect there but I won't be visiting there any time soon........ especially if it's against the law to defend yourself and loved ones. Where do the officials who make these decisions come from and what the hell do they want?
  12. Didn't have a firearm at the time so one of the deputies who taught the class let me use his Glock 17 9mm. Hadn't fired a handgun before but scored 98%. Liked the Glock but ended up buying an SW990L in .40. Did like the Glock though. Very easy to shoot accurately
  13. Thank god it was only a 22. Hate to think of the damage a bigger caliber would have done. Hope the officer gets well soon.
  14. Have to agree with you Paddywak, really don't know the circumstances here. The employees should have shut it down and I see no reason to pull a weapon out......damn. women can be mean critters.
  15. This only confirms my belief that politicians are registered card carrying idiots.....
  16. Dolomite : "I did notice on the last one there are several people waiting in the car." Boy, if that's not a warning signal I don't know what is. Anyone comes knocking after 9:00 pm and I answer the door with gun in hand. There's just way to many dangerous nuts out there these days and they have no regard to who they injure or kill. Stay safe.
  17. Nothing, your not the police. At best you should move yourself, loved ones and friends quitely away from the situation and call 911. If the guy starts shooting wildly at customers then you might want to take different actions but there are liabilities in doing that and you may end up in jail.
  18. Not a big fan of Gander Mtn. but this is a step in the right direction. I may consider going back there.
  19. Not a problem for me. They're a bunch of pseudo-knowitalls. I quit doing business with them 8 years ago after their so called expert messed up my Martin. They can post anything they want since I'll never cross their threshold again.
  20. Odd, I used to be but now I'm not.
  21. "Ummm...BTW I wouldn't mess around in blount county if I were you." What do you mean?
  22. The big blue signs on entrances to TVA property are enough for me not to carry which is unfortunate. My family and I like to catfish in many areas along the tennessee river. On more than one occassion we have seen some questionable individuals roaming around late into the evening and we'd all have felt a lot safer if allowed to carry.
  23. The quality of walmart produce in no way would make anyone want to risk a shoot out, at least I wouldn't think it would. Just going into one of their stores gives me the willies.
  24. Where do the people who design things like this come from.....and what do they want? That's just plain weird.
