Should citizens, then, trust LEO's that carry guns? Personally, I don't trust anyone I don't know. The THP had a little splainin' to do recently that exposed a few bad guys that wore uniforms. A couple Memphis cops recently shot it out. A female THP shot her sig other off duty with her duty weapon a couple years ago. Just sayin'.

I can imagine John Adams stating that he would sue the British Government to get their "rights". Do you think King George would grant those "rights". Where have we gone in 235 years? We no longer pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor. This incrementalism has brought us to where we are today. Our own well being and security takes precedent over any perceived freedoms. My oath was to protect the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. It was not to give in and sue later. If that day comes, my guns will not be in my house, and I assume that I and my family will not be there, either.

David, your willingness to abide by the "law" will not serve you well when/if the government decides to take your firearms. Katrina showed us the usurpation that local governments can devolve to. If you are willing to follow the "law" and the "law" is to surrender your AR15, then I assume that you would do it. The computer in the LEO cruiser should link the license plate to the HCP, if the HCP is driving his/her own car. The LEO should know the background check has been completed on the HCP and the odds that the HCP is now a crazed felon are greatly reduced compared to a blind traffic stop. The LEO should actually feel less "nervous" and should feel more secure knowing that a good percentage of HCP's (including me) would assist them in their time of need.

You should be able to pull and shoot your first round in under 2 seconds. If you can do it with your man purse, you're good to go. Getcha a 4" 1911 and a Milt Sparks IWB holster. You'll do much better.

Wyoming gets substantial revenue from oil and gas. Same as Alaska. It offsets what is needed from sales/income taxes. Florida does it with tourism taxes.

I am 48 and have known many law enforcement officers. I would say about half of them have an attitude. They are the ones that speed going to work in the police cruisers, don't tell on their fellow officers if the fellow officers break the law, and generally think they are a cut above the honest citizen. The other half are generally compassionate and considerate of the honest citizen, have good moral judgement, and treat others as they would like to be treated. Guess which half are less favorable to 2nd Amendment issues?

It is up to us, to you as an individual, to act. It is not up to the military, the LEO's, your pastor, or your kids. It is up to you and me.

Guys, you should familiarize yourself with this treaty. If ding dong signs it, it might remove our sovereignty and give it to the U.N. It might affect our freedoms, as treaties take precedence over the Constitution, per the Constitution. The senate must ratify, so if ding dong signs it, it must be debated and approved.
