  1. Military training is made pretty much idiot proof.. because there's such a wide range of people that need the training to survive and WIN. Jackdog is correct..theory means nothing unless its proven to win in battle. personally, I think that most of our military training is some of the best in the world. As one of the dumber ones that have had that training, I can say that it works. It's saved my life in one war and roughly 8 skirmishes...and not only allowed me to survive, but to help save the lives of my buddies by being alive to lay down fire where it was needed.....so when I look for instructors, yep..you guessed it..I look for military experience..specifically combat experience... I guess its because I know that when the fit hits the shan, that training will save me.
  2. Len, have you noticed all the pro gun legislation thats actually PASSING in various states and in congress? I think the little fiasco with Jimmy zumbro really made the legislators wake up and look around. they KNOW that there's a large contingent of the american public that will respond immediately when something like that happens..and they know it came from individuals..that was an instance when corporations responded immediately to the INDIVIDUALS. I don't know about you but I like it! hello to all from wyoming (where they just passed legislation that allows for firearm carry in vehicles during bow season!)
  3. John, the ak is pretty hard for someone to machine if they haven't tried it before. trust me drewi is right..it can get....difficult. btw...what does "bump" mean on the forum? I haven't figured it out.

    We are a go!

Man!! I wish I would have known that 3 weeks ago steelharp! dangit!!! and I was looking for a 226 too!
  5. Razor, its a small world, I was born in folkston, Ga, just north of Hilliard/callahan..I actually lived in jacksonville for awhile as a youngster... I now live in Kingsport/churchhill..not too far from you guys. right now though, I'm in Wyoming...working. *sigh* if I was smarter, I'd be able to get a good job round the homestead.
  6. you might want to look on the firing line for a quality used sig if that fits your budget better.. I know of one right now being sold by a sailor in norfolk. dang reasonable price, with modifications (trigger and meps) done by a certified sig armorer. they also have trader ratings..like here. I don't know if that'll help you..but its worth a spin if it does!
  7. heh..I'm in bismark north dakota right now and will be in wyoming in 2 days...I am SO jealous of you guys. *sigh* I guess it beats standing in the soup line.
  8. Not the amphib mag release!! I'll bet that magazine just JUMPS outta the pistol!.
  9. yah...getting that trigger guard removed is important! that way your ears won't get caught on anything.
  10. I'll check them out when I get settled in tomorrow evening and finish the inventory of my climbing gear.
  11. hahaha brian, I know what you mean... I didn't have a range to go to, but I did measure off 15 yards, took my time and took 5 shots... 3 hit I've gotta get better...I need more range time
  12. COOL! I like that idea. I wish we had someplace around here that did that! as it is, I have to save my pennies and then go down to knoxville to pick up an AR from coal creek armory. The Grand Commander of the Avenging Flotillas said that since I got her the engagement ring, I can get one pistol..so I'm pretty much like a dog a the treat section of petsmart...*sigh*
  13. Mike, you couldn't be any more correct if you tried.
  14. I just signed the petition and added my own flavoring..some may think that its not helpful to be critical..but hey. here's what I sent: To see this blatant attempt by the my own Government to disarm its Citizens and remove their Natural right to defend themselves is not only an assault to my dignity but also an attack on my LIBERTY. to think I would trust YOU people to keep myself and my family safe is not only laughable but ridiculous. I'm sure you'll approach it with all the zeal that you used to prohibit the 9/11 attacks.
  15. Reef, Oh jeeze man..that was funny stuff!!! did you make that up???
  16. careful there sean..these guys are correct...it IS addictive..and owning and shooting firearms is a. fun b. useful

It looks REALLY entertaining and hey, I know there's a bunch of us here who would have loved to have said a great one liner when they were in combat, instead of going..."over there!! get em!!!" and pissing a magizine at the bad guy....
