Dave, I apologize if I bent any rules of engagement. I put Strelvecina on ignore so I won't have to read that drivel. I have a very good friend who was in Sarajevo. we went to NCO school together. After the things he had to deal with, and my own knowledge of opinions like that, I have a pretty short fuse when it comes to that line of thinking. I appreciate the leeway you extend me when it comes to that and I really shouldn't let that guy get to me. I will attempt to keep my mouth shut around national socialists in the future.

Look. I was once of the same mind. I didn't want an officer TOUCHING my pistol. Then I thought about it. This is a guy or a girl who are doing a job for around 35-50,000 dollars a year. they don't know you from Adam's house cat. The thing they want to do is get their jobs done.... without . getting . shot. If they unload your pistol I'm fairly sure that they're not out to get you. they just want to minimize their danger. If that's what makes them comfortable, I'm good with that. The alternative is having a jumpy person who IS armed, escalate a situation. so you don't want a cop Fingering your pistol? would you rather get body slammed and put into handcuffs until the ticket is written? If you don't want a law enforcement officer disarming you, don't give him or her a reason to interact with you at all. that being said, I am guilty of being pulled over (in Texas...did you know that in Texas, if you travel further than 2 counties from home you can carry a loaded firearm in your vehicle without a carry permit? I had mine on the seat when I got pulled over. The DPS trooper was pretty nice about it. Later on I ended up buying a pistol from him) and I have to say that the officer was courteous. If you give it, you get it. trouble and courtesy are no different.

I agree that he was wrong. If he didn't like the situation he should have refused the appointment. I can't fault him for saying it though. I'd say something if it were MY men being shot to Shi*t because they weren't allowed to defend themselves. But that's me. And yes, when I disagreed with MY officers, I let them know about it. heh. that woman gets paid to cater to the huffington post type people and is one of the most left leaning writers out there. Nothing she writes surprises me. What many liberals don't understand is that many senior NCO's and Officers not only have advanced degrees in things such as business management but they've also had courses in strictly military subjects. SHE isn't bright enough to understand that McChristal didn't really say anything that everyone else wasn't thinking. Obama's policies have tied the soldier's hands and it's costing them lives. He said what he said in order to call attention to this and pretty much fell on his sword. Now, we have Petraeus as the General in Afghanistan. He's a man who already said that the surge wouldn't work in Afghanistan like it did in Iraq. Where McChristal (spelling?) was once a believer in "the one" and sympathetic to Obama's policies, Petraeus has never been so. he IS a winner though and Obama would do better to do what the man says or show the world that he's a bigger buffoon than he already is. I have a feeling that after the health care bill is repealed, we'll have quite a bit less deficit than we have now. they can always put some of that money towards securing our borders.

I won't say that Obama is a Nazi but there are stunning similarities between his political views and the views of the National Socialist party. Keep in mind that the Nazi's, under Hitler, instituted some pretty far reaching social changes. 1. national health care. 2. Women suffrage. 3. National child care ( under "properly socialist" care givers, of course) 4. advocated for a strong national defense and for "lebensraum" or living space. 5. national gun registration. All of these things are priorities for the DNC. If you think that Dianne Feinstein doesn't want to ban guns you have a lot to learn. Same goes for Nancy Pelosi, who said "oh we'll ban them..but we'll choose the place and the time to do so" a few years ago. What is left to see is if they can pull this stuff off. Now? I don't think they'd be able to. Obama has squandered so much of his political currency with the health care bill (which now folks want to repeal) that he can't get anything done except by executive order. Even this has it's limits as you can see by the way a judge ruled to vacate his moratorium on offshore drilling in the gulf.
