  1. Taurus 709. Went through the same thing and I found the 709 to meet both our criteria.
  2. Thanks for the link Charles. I ended up ordering a handful of boxes and they have already shipped.
  3. http://www.pistolandpawn.com/   2405 N. Memorial Parkway Huntsville, AL 35810 (256) 534-1000   9mm 15.99 per 50 9mm ppi 19.99 per 50
  4.     Glad to see the 709 getting some love.  I was in the market about two years ago and when comparing the features with the $ I bought a 709 and would not sell it now for any price.  External safety was a big deal for me and I find it just as accurate as my pt111.  Carried a LCP for a couple of years but found it inaccurate and a pain to stock .380
  5. I was also considering the db9, but I was comparing it to the Taurus 709 slim, among others. I am partial to Taurus as I own three and I like the safety and trigger weight. I ended up buying the 709 and fired multiple Mags through it this weekend and was amazed at the groupings (compared to my lcp). Five star
  6. +1 on the Price. I have a Chiappa 1911 22LR and love it. $300
  7. Thanks for the link, very interesting. After reading it I am more confident that the XD would be as good of a choice as the 34. 95% of any malfunction I have ever had on my current arsenal have been user error. If someone puts 350 rounds through the pipe before a single malfunction, I am ok with that. I am more prone to "limp wrist" a round on my last mag of the day, resulting in a failure to eject.
  8. I agree on the staff at Shooters Depot. I picked up a Chiapa 1911-22lr there and will continue to support them as I am able. Wether I decide on the xd or Glock they will be my first choice when shopping.
  9. Thanks Patton, Have you been to shooter depot yet??
  10. Thanks for the input. I have been fired up about the 34 for some time, but I ran across the XD tactical at the range and liked the looks. It looks like about a $100 diff in price and was uncertain what the real value was. Thanks again
  11. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this comparison?
  12. Welcome to the board Hopster. If the bersa was straight out of the box when fired you may just want to give it a good cleaning before giving up on it.
  13. Just forwarded the Facebook link to my church folks. We have been looking for an excuse to get the security team together for a shoot. Good luck and see you soon.
  14. It is on the corner like you are going back to comcast. I think the building used to be a speed shop. (auto, not drugs)
  15. Thanks for the input guys. I discovered the wisdom of your words yesterday at the range. At 25 feet I hit a 12" plate 1 out of 12 rds I think anything outside of 15 feet I would be better off to just keep it in my pocket.
  16. I noticed some fiber optics sights out there that would make sighting much better when aiming in the dark or even at a dark colored objects. Priced around $130 and then was recommened the laser grip for even more $. I hate to spend that on a $300 gun. Are there cost effective alternatives out there or do you have any homemade solutions??
  17. My wife and I both use the LCP as everyday carry weapons. While .380 might not be as plentiful as 9mm or .38 special it is out there. The key is buying it when you see it. After the first couple of boxes I am now more selective, I only buy them when I can find them under $20. I picked up two boxes yesterday at Big Daddys in South Pitt for $17 each.
  18. My wife and I both have the LCP as everyday carry weapons. The key to having .380 ammo is buying it when you see it. If you wait until you are low you will never find it. I pick up a box everytime I see it under $20.
  19. We will be at Prentice Cooper today around 5:00 to dark. Introduce yourself and mention TGO if you come.
  20. We will be at Prentice Cooper today around 5:00 til dark. I will just be running a couple of boxes through my new LCP.
  21. Well they say to market to your customer base, and it IS East Ridge. You may be on to something:tough:
  22. What type of market would there be for a indoor range/gun shop in East Ridge?? Maybe ten lanes as much as 50' deep. It is a large building so might have to offer pawn to cover overhead?? Just thinking.?.?
  23. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to the Winter Jam concert that was held in Chattanooga last night. I really only went to see the band Third Day but was blown away by the rest of the bands/speakers. They were amazing. Chattanooga was the first stop in the tour. Winter Jam is a christian concert series that will spend the next 90 days traveling around the country spreading the love and good news of Jesus Christ. They will be making stops in Nashville, Knoxville and other areas within a short drive if anyone is interested. Google Winter Jam 2010 or try www.thirdday.com
  24. Long time lurker, love the sight. My name is Brian, I shoot a Taurus 9mm but I have fallen in love with my wifes ruger .380 so I guess I will try to pick one up now that I have my HCP. I just got it in the mail Sat.. I was printed in May.?.?. Oh well, at least I have it now.
