  1. I have been told by a friend of a Kansas Swat team member..... When Obama came to Kansas City they had SWAT teams in vans in the area. Each team had to have one or two of the President's Secret Service guys with them. The SWAT members pryed all day and couldn't get much out of the SS guys. Late in the day one of the KS Swat guys asked the SS guys in thier van what the biggest difference between Bush and Obama was? They said GW would show up at 6:30am every morning, look them in the eye and salute them. He got to work right away and worked similar hours every day. They said Obama gets to work around 9:30am every morning, won't aknowledge them or look them in the eye, and chain-smokes and plays golf all day.
  2. Can't think of anything I need, so I'm probably going to sit this one out. If I get bored enough to want to spend $10 for an hour of entertainment I might go.
  3. Ha ha, yeah the Ruger...lol That thing was the pickeist AR I've ever had....lol Sticky chamber with Brown Bear, and wouldn't cycle Tula for some reason. Only gun that has had those problems. All DI guns I've had have had no problem with the steel stuff.
  4. Make sure the rifle is chambered in 5.56 before shooting 5.56 through it. If it's .223 only then only shoot .223. Get some PMC Bronze...that's the best "cheap" brass ammo out there in my opinion.
  5. What brand of AR 15 do you have anyway?
  6. All other Walmart Federal ammo has been great. I've shot all the pistol rounds and the 12ga shotgun shells. Everything has been 100%. Only the .223 has given me issues. The Brown Bear is laquer coated. In my DI guns it ran great as long as I cleaned the chamber out about every 200 rounds. My Ruger SR556 and other piston guns didn't like it at all. The Ruger would shoot it fine as long as you kept steadily feeding it mags, but if you let it cool for 5 minutes the first round would stick. I have never had this problem with polymer coated ammo like Wolf and Tula, and Silver Bear is fine too. The laquer will heat up and stick to the chamber. The rounds feed smoothly, but in tight chambers they will stick. My Smith and Wesson M&P15 ran it just fine and a custom built Predator Custom Shop gun ran Brown Bear just fine. I run 100% Wolf through a couple rifles like my MSAR STG556. It loves the stuff and shoots groups that I'm happy with as it is just a plinking gun for me.
  7. I'm not saying every box is going to have a bad one....or three. Me and some buddies go shooting 3-4 times per year and each time they stop at Wally World and pick up 2-3 boxes of .223 to run through one of my AR's. Every time we have had at least one, and up to 5-6 failures to fire per box with that ammo. No other ammo has ever had a problem, even Wolf, Brown Bear, Silver Bear, and Tula. Just my experiences. If you want to pay $0.44 per round then by all means go for it. Much better ammo can be had for $0.32 per round or so like Federal XM193.
  8. That is the proper way to deal with a stuck casing. Just don't stand over top of the barrel while doing so...lol Probably a bad round. As mentioned, the WWFederal is very inconsistent. I'd feel better about running Wolf....at least 100% of the 4-5k rounds I've fired have all gone bang...lol
  9. Looks like it didn't feed right out of the mag and bent the bullet down. May have wedged itself in the chamber. The neck of the bullet looks smashed up too. I've had numerous failures to fire out of WWFederal, but nothing like what you experienced. I stay away from the stuff for these reasons and because it's $0.44 per round...lol
  10. +1 Sounds good to me!
  11. Hence why I won't travel to Illinois and won't do business with any company in Illinois. I'm not boycotting AZ, I'm boycotting any state that restricts thier citizen's gun rights.
  12. I would vote for Strel before I'd vote for Haslem. That should tell you what kind of worthless piece of I think Haslem will be as Governor. He's simply a puppet, just like Obama. No real credibility, nothing of merit shown from his work prior, and will lay down take it in the ass from the federal government, then apologize for not providing them a better experience while doing so. Looks like Tn, one of the last free and decent state's in the U.S. may just become another place for "Change."
  13. I found some Federal red box at Wally World in Brentwood, TN for $15.97 per 50. Bought as much as I could...lol
  14. I can't weigh in on the TCP, but my brief experience with the LCP has been very positive. I'm considering giving the S&W bodygard .380 a shot. It's recently been released, so I'll have to see what people say about it after it gets some review time. My only complaint about the LCP is it's size is fantastic for carrying, but a little small with my hand size. I'd be willing to sacrifice some size to get something I could put a better grip on (I have the pierce extensions and still have to 2-finger it). I couldn't carry a gun that ever failed on me. If I had a problem out of one, unless I felt it was 100% ammo related, it would no longer be my carry gun that I would gamble my life on. I shot a P238 a few weeks ago. I've got to say I was really impressed. So smooth and very accurate. I guess that's what you get for $700...lol
  15. I'm no expert, but most people seem to hunt them to keep them from killing their farm animals.
  16. Shouldn't this be considered a terrorist threat? When is this adminstration going to put aside thier agenda and do what they have sworn to do and protect this country? Arpaio has no doubt recieved threats in the past. I expect him to hold strong and steady and not be effected by this recent threat. I bet if the cartel put a bounty on someone in the administration it would get their attention.
  17. I would recommend beginning your search at Smoky Mountain Knife Works off exit 407 towards Pigeon Forge. They have by far the biggest selection anywhere in TN that I know of. Their prices are decent, however if you want to go check out what you like, then save a few bucks you can come home and shop on the internet. I stop every time I pass by and seem to find something sharp that I don't need but really want....lol
  18. I just filled it out as a joke and left Obama a nice message...turns out the next page asks for a donation.....A DONATION! How bout a REFUND of the tax dollars you're wasting?
  19. ... If only TGO David would end Strel's tenure here at TGO so we could get back to productive conversations... Quote from TGO David on 6/26/10 on another thread that Strel continued to provoke and attack other members and do everything but actually contribute anything of merit to the conversation... *sigh* Strel, please try to get along with folks and stop pushing people's buttons. I'm having a really hard time believing that you aren't here just to argue with people and amuse yourself. The more I become convinced that this is the case, the more I feel that your stay with us is drawing to an end. A month later and this behavior still continues.... I would very much like to contribute my thoughts and also hear the thoughts of other members on this issue and others, as the ability to freely share information is one of the best assets that we have today, and one of the reasons I enjoy spending hours of my day here on TGO trying to contribute to these threads. Unfortunately, I feel like I cannot share my thoughts without being personally attacked by someone who's rebuttals are so asinine, off topic, and out of context that it makes any attempt to be forthright with my feelings a complete and utter waste of time.
  20. Have you considered an FNAR? 1MOA guaranteed by FN....mine has shot 1/2 MOA with 150gr Federal from Wally World. I'm having a PWS compensator put on this week which will make it even more fun to shoot, but recoil isn't bad as is. I picked mine up for $1350...about half or less of the other guns that have been mentioned like the SCAR. I have the heavy barrel version and it weighs about 9lbs. I definately wouldn't use it as a tactical weapon, more of a prone or bench gun. It's going to depend on what the purpose is going to be. The SCAR should be plenty accurate for a battle rifle, however if you want something bolt gun accurate, the FNAR is probably your closest bet in semi-auto. FNH puts the same hammer forged barrels on the FNAR that they use for thier bolt guns. The FNAR comes with a top rail ready for optics and three picatinny rails on the forend. The bottom rail even has a swivel stud for mounting a Harris bipod instead of a rail mounted bipod. I acutally have rigged it up to accept my GG&G bipod and a Tango Down battle grip. You can get it in a 16" barrel if you want a battle rifle style .308, however most of them are 20", either light or heavy barrels. I used to own an LR-308 and it preformed very well. It was about 1MOAish with Federal from Wally World, probably would have been sub MOA slightly with some match ammo. Good luck!
  21. I had a leather shop in Franklin make a couple for me while I waited, and watched because I thought it was interesting. They we're $30 each and they stamped revolvers about every inch into the black one and Smith (revolver) Wesson in the back of the brown one. They have held up great. Not sure this info is really going to help you, but if you have a leather shop in town it might be worth stopping by and seeing what they can make for you. I also have two Spec Ops belts that I love. I would rather have leather if I carried in an outside of the pants holster, but I wear the Spec Ops belt every day now....actually yeah, pretty much every day since I bought the first one. I bought the second one ($15 btw) because I liked the first one so much I wanted one to put with my multi-cam gear. http://www.botachtactical.com/spbebdube1.html They have a more heavy duty version called the "Riggers Belt" that might be better if you're carrying, however I've had no trouble carrying IWB with the Better BDU. It sinches up tight and never loosens up, even during running, etc.
