  1. I wanted to share with everyone about a great place in Nashville to get survival gear that I bet not too many people have heard of. I myself have driven right by it hundreds of times and never even knew it existed. There's a company called Lifeview Outdoors that is located off I-24 and Briley Parkway. They don't have a retail store and do most of their business online, however have had no problem letting me come window shop as long as I call ahead and let the know I'm coming. They have Mountain House food (20% off for the next couple weeks by the way), tons of firestarting stuff, sleeping bags, dealers for Benchmade, Zero Tolerance, Kabar,, ect knives, Surefire lights, Condor, 5.11, paracord, water filtration, first aid kits, clothing including Craghoppers (the pants Bear Grylls wears), Eberlestock packs (only place in Nashville I'm aware that even carries their stuff), ect ect ect. Mike Merryman (the owner) and Darren, have been awesome to deal with. They have let me check out everything I've been interested in, fondle it, take it out of the plastic if need be, whatever. They definitely care more about you getting something you need than they are that you just buy something. I'm in no way associated with the company, I won't get any kickback if you buy something, ect...just to clear that up. I have just been an extremely pleased customer and wanted to share my experiences with the TGO crowd so they can also find out about this little honey hole hidden in Middle TN. The survival folks, knife folks, and tactical gear folks...you will leave with something...lol. Check out their website and go visit sometime. Just call Mike and let him know you're coming. www.lifeviewoutdoors.com Post up some experiences if you visit them!
  2. Check this out...double barrel 1911, kinda cool. http://www.prisonplanet.com/could-this-be-the-ultimate-shtf-handgun.html
  3. No amount of money is worth living in a communist, rights violating state. A stack of phony paper will never be worth my civil liberties.
  4. WC844 works well for me...I've also used Varget and H335.

    Act of Valor

I was watching an interview on TV with the creators of the movie and they said there was no CGI junk and that they used Live rounds in filming!...I thought holy crap that's awesome, although dangerous obviously..lol
  6. I got mine from SMKW as well. I'll likely never part with anything with ESEE's name on it.

    SOCOM ll Optics

If you have the full cluster rail then you have some options in a more traditional scope, otherwise you will have to use a red dot, put a traditional scope mount on, or use a pistol scope. The rifle can shoot a long way, but it's not the type of gun most people buy for 800-1000 yard use, it's just not the right tool for that. I had a 1-4x Trijicon Accupoint on my Socom II and was very pleased. Gave me the 1x for CQB and 4x was plenty sufficient for out to 250-300 yards. I also had an eotech on it for a while, that was actually a lot of fun and I still made hits out to 200 pretty easily. A cheek riser will aid in comfort when using a scope because the factory stock is really only comfortable with iron sights. You can get them for $50-60.
  8. The battlecomp is awesome...well worth the money I think. I've had some PWS brakes and the battlecomp has almost the same recoil reduction but does not have the concussion that the PWS brake had. My buddy still has a PWS and when we go shooting the difference is tremendous. His gun gives me a headache after an afternoon of shooting while I can shoot mine all day long with no worries. Also, I have had the 1.5 and the 2.0 version and I couldn't tell a difference, so get the 2.0 or A2 sized brake to keep it short as possible unless you need the 1.5 for a 14.7" barrel. Aim surplus has free shipping on them I believe.
  9. Heard about this on the radio last night, very interesting what happens to a fact or figure when a democrat opens thier mouth. They thinks we are all stupid..... We will not, cannot, and dam* sure won't be fooled by this manipulative liar behind the telepromptor again!@Even though I don't really like him...Romney gave 15-20% of his income to charity last year and paid more in taxes than Obama who donated a whopping 1% to charity...are you telling me the proclaimer for all that is redistribution of wealth only gave 1% to the poor he so valiantly says he's trying to help? Also his prayer breakfast speech can be summed up by saying give unto Cezar what is God's...read up on it and that will make sense. It was repulsive how little this man knows of Christianity and the proper role of government. He's a fake folks, an all out fake.
  10. +1 The ignorance of some people, interestingly enough the one's from this guy's hood or whatever, say everything...it's never the guys fault who was threatening people's lives because in the hood he was a good person and since he got what he deserved before he got a chance to shoot anyone we should all feel sorry for him...please. I feel sorry for the customer...we all hope we never end up in that situation but I would have done the same thing. Take the places money and run out the door...we'll whatever.. You stick a gun in my face or my wife's and consider that the last thing you do. Glad this was reported on in a fair and responsible way.
  11. Yeah part of the tour took you to the Outpost Armory I believe. Pretty cool that they are made here in the Boro...too bad that does nothing to help the pricing...lol Great booth review. I watch all the Nutnfancy videos and the shot show one's are especially fun to watch each year. Some people suck at boot reviews but this one was very well done. Glad they are making rifles that keep our boys safe....too bad they are so darn expensive I'll never own one...that is unless my lotto ticket is a good one tonight
  12. NSA has done a few transfers for me and are great to deal with.
  13. I've shopped kimbers lately at both stores and there's no way FGS has a better sticker price than the outpost sale prices. They are better than anyone else in town with the sale prices, normal pricing may be similar, but FGS has higher prices than anyone in Nashville.
  14. Can't read any text on the first post....what's going on? I might be interested if the class depending on what is covered and the cost.
  15. I've been in Uselton's and they have always been very nice and polite. About the only things I've bought were a set of 1911 grips and some 1911 mags. They have some really cool and antique knives and of course their very expensive (but nice) 1911's. Got no complaints about Useltons. They don't have the selection that FGS has so I don't have much to gripe about as I only go in there for a few things every now and then that I know they have. There's no point in window shopping. I definitely don't understand why the only place in the area with a range, Uselton's, doesn't sell their range time at an affordable price in order to bring in more customers. I'd take less money at the range and more customer traffic over asking too high of a price thus deterring customers from using the range and thus not patronizing the store. Maybe I'll own a store someday so I can do what I want...lol
  16. I thought I'd stop by and offer a trade to FGS last week. They tried to pull the cheesy sales routine on me and show me some guns and then take $500 off the price of the gun after tax so basically offered me $420ish for a gun that sells new for $1000. Instead of taking the $500 off and only paying tax on the difference as is customary they tried to sneak that past me as if I wouldn't notice. I told the guy (pretty sure he's the owner) I would need a little more out of it but that I would check out a few more things. He said hold on a sec and walked away from me and never came back. I waited 10 minutes and just grabbed my trade and headed out the door. I was treated like a I was a complete moron and that I should be excited about one of the most insulting trade offers I've ever received at a store. I probably won't be stopping in there anymore. It's just not possible for me to buy anything from them as there is never something I have to have so much to pay their crazy prices. The Springfield Micro I was looking at was priced higher than I've seen new one's priced at other stores and I'm supposed to take peanuts for my trade and go against those prices?
  17. Note to self....don't buy an M1 Garand
  18. Yeah great staff and selection but prices are full retail. If you are looking for something I bet they have it, but if you're a shopper you're probably going to have a tough time striking a deal there. They are not afraid to let you walk without purchasing if you don't want to pay their number, trust me I've walked out empty handed plenty of times. Even a few times I really wanted something that day but just couldn't bring myself to pay a serious premium. Usually on accessories they are 30-40% higher than most places. If something is $80 on the internet and $100 at most stores, plan on $120 or so at FGS. Other than that I can't complain. They are some of the friendliest folks around but the smile is expensive. I don't blame them, no one around there has the selection they do and with Brentwood's rich folks right down the road their customers will likely not flinch at their prices as they can afford to pay them.
  19. Place was packed this afternoon..could hardly walk around!
  20. I contributed to the sales...lol. I would expect ammo prices will go back up as we get towards the Summer. I would buy now and hoard..lol. One of the shops in TN said yesterday was thier 3rd busiest day ever.
