Been a long day, here are some pitiful pics but pics nonetheless:

SR1911

Just picked one up at Bill's Outpost. Pretty freaking excited about it. That is all.
3. Agree. I am trying out a new church today that meets in a school building. Glad I found this thread but disappointed in the answer. I guess it's staying in the truck this morning.
4. Just picked up a Ruger LCR to replace my M&P9c as my concealed carry firearm and immediately ordered a DeSantis Pocket-Tuk on eBay for $20 shipped. Anyone have experience with this combo or just the DeSantis Pocket-Tuk itself? Reviews around the web seem mostly positive with the main complaints being unstable during IWB use and some saying it doesn't hold the gun as securely over time. Most of those guys are carrying the LCP so I am thinking the slightly larger girth of the LCR will help with the second issue but am afraid the extra weight will magnify the first issue. The item number on DeSantis' website also differs slightly for the holster recommended for each gun. Hell, maybe I am just trying to justify my purchase? Looking for anyone with experience that can throw their two cents in. If not, I guess I will find out by Friday when it gets here (hopefully).
5. I know its been a month but congrats on your new gun. I have had one for a couple years now and I love it. the Apex kit is well worth the money, I just have the striker block and sear right now but am thinking about getting the trigger kit soon. I also have the crimson trace grips which i find make the grip just the right size for my hands, you might check into those as well. One of the most comfortable guns I have shot.
6. For the record I would like nothing more than to be proven 100% wrong one day. I would hope if a hot head off duty officer were to approach my car at a red light or stop sign, and I pulled my weapon, that I would not fid myself in the back of a cruiser headed downtown.
7. Actually it does. If they pulled their weapons Mr citizen should have been arrested at the very least.
8. If this were about an HCP'er pulling his weapon on an off duty officer, you can bet we would be reading about an entirely different outcome. I dunno, maybe my thought process is impaired by my disdain for officers being able to run stop signs and speed just whenever the hell they want to
9. I would love to know what 1 guy did (that didnt get him arrested) that justified 2 officers pulling a weapon. I guess I am not surprised the hypocrisy lives on.
10. That's it right there. Citizen or officer, you can't just go pointing a gun at someone. If the roles were reversed you can bet that Mr Citizen is taken to jail on the spot. On duty or not, officers should be held to at least the same standard as the rest of us (wishful thinking).
11. whoa, cops getting away (possibly) with stuff the general public cant. no way.
12. I am in the same situation as the OP. I narrowed it down to the Springfield Loaded and the new Ruger SR1911. Unfortunatley at this time I cant get my hands on an SR1911 so my purchase is being delayed until I can. Or until I find a used Loaded for a respectable price. Buds had one the other day but it never made it out of their VIP section, it was bought in a few hours it seems. it is really hard for me to drop the cash on a gun until I can get my hands on it and any others I may be considering.
13. or you should have bought the M&P 9c like I told you...
14. I hadnt really considered that, thanks for the reminder. The lifetime warranty does go a long way and may well be worth the extra money. I need to do some research on Ruger's warranty (which I foolishly forgot to do) before I make a decision. I may call CCA (as bad as I hate to) and see if they have either of them in their demo case. I doubt they will have a demo SR1911 but they may in a month or so. I am always hesitant to dry fire a gun in front of the dealer but aside from being able to shoot them i dont know any other way to get a feel for the trigger...which isnt really a deciding factor unless they end up worlds apart. Maybe I will just get one for Christmas and wont have to make the decision or spend the $$...ha
15. Since my first post have seen a video from Hickok on youtube where the ruger measured a 5lb pull. SA's website say the loaded is 5-6lbs so trigger pull seems to be a wash now. I'm gonna goto a few places in Seymour this weekend and see if I can get my hands on a loaded. Bills said they sold the ruger for $650 when they had them and that is pretty tempting. Main thing is I don't have to buy now so I can take some time until the ruger catches up to demand and make a solid, informed decision. But damn I really wanna buy a new 1911 ASAP...lol. They say patience is a virtue, I call BS!
16. lol I checked my ashtray for an extra $500 but came up short...
17. I went by Bill's Outpost today, they told me they have only had 5 of the SR1911 and none lasted more than a few hours. Said an employee bought one before it hit the shelf, lol. They had a SA TRP that was very nice and I think it convinced me that the full size is the way to go. Now I just need to play the waiting game for the SR1911 it seems. It would be nice to find somewhere to order one as Bill's didn't seem to have that option.
18. This is great feedback and exactly what I needed. Thank you and keep it coming
19. I am about to pull the trigger on a purchase of a 1911. I had made up my mind to get a Springfield Loaded 1911 but ran across some positive threads on the Ruger SR1911 late last night. I thought I had my mind made up now this wrench gets thrown into my plan. I know the Ruger is/was hard to find, so there may not be many who can give me a hands on perspective but I am looking for some help here. I am a casual shooter, I dont plan to carry this one as I carry my M&P 9c, I wont be in any competitions and I wont be doing any trigger or internal upgrades to whichever gun I buy. Both guns look great, the ambi safety on the Springfield is kind of a turn off but I can replace that if needed. The Ruger apparently has a somewhat lighter trigger as well from what I have read. The guns are about $300 apart in price, and with that $300 I could get a few upgraded mags for the Ruger and maybe even some custom grips if I wanted. So I guess what I am asking is if the Springfield is $300 better than the Ruger? I am certainly not an expert, so I dont know much about the internal differences in these guns. The Springfield may very well be worth $300 more...any insight is very appreciated. For $300, I want to base my decision on more than just the feel of the gun in my hands if you know what I mean... Thanks!
20. must be nice to be allowed to buy 2 back to back...lol
21. Bumping this thread to see if anyone has experience with the bi-tone Springfield EMP's or Loaded 1911's. Any issues with the finish? 99% sure my next one is going to be a SA Loaded 1911. I really love the bi-tone but if there are any issues with the finish I can certainly handle the SS model. Gun would rarely be carried. Thanks in advance!
