  1. Yeah yeah just harassing you. It's a nice gun for sure. Only advice is this: Dont carry to Wally if you are planning on stealing light bulbs!
  2. They are all smarter than me anyway. Where do you think I got all my advice? lol
  3. TeamJackson? lol Man I told you at work today what to go with! But all these guys make valid points, it's all about feel baby!
  4. OP may have already made a decision but just in case... I have an M&P 9c and am very satisfied with it. I have shot a buddy of mines XD .40 and have no regrets as I was originally looking at an XDm 9mm. I'll beat the same horse that has already been mentioned multiple times, it came down to feel and the M&P just feels more comfortable to me. I think CCA has all of them available to try out so you might take a trip there and give them a try if you haven't already made a purchase.
  5. I have an old auto ordinance zg 51 pit bull .45 that I would like to change sights on. I am not even sure if that is possible? I admittingly, dont know crap about changing sights. Anyone know anything about these guns and if I cna change the sights and where I could find them? I am almost betting I would have to take this in to get it done by a pro. Image of gun pulled online: Thanks
  6. +1 for shouldn't have cut mine down. Def not as comfy with my M&P9c as before. Oh well. Live and learn
  7. Thanks. I wanna put them in a display case but I dont want to sacrifice the security of my safe...lol
  8. I might be partial but I love these old Smith and Wesson revolvers. The 4" is a .357 mag and the 6" is a .41 mag.
  9. Sorry to hear about your gun, but more sorry to hear about your dad. Been there done that...hope it all works out for you
  10. j/k...lol Here is another prime example (read the comments): Guns in bars legislation advancing in TN Senate
  11. What gun are you looking to put one on?
  12. I carry my M&P9c in it. It is pretty comfortable but kind of a pain to "put on". I always wear an undershirt and then an untucked polo and it conceals very well. Ideally I would like to be able to just wear a t-shirt and it be hidden an comfortable. Maybe after some breaking in it will be? I dont like that my gun brings out pieces of the leather each time I take it out though. I am going to save up and get one of these like OhShoot has: TT Gunleather: Slim IWB "Mike's Special" TT GunLeather High Quality Leather Gun Holsters The Kholster is a great deal for $39 shipped though.
  13. I will echo the recent posts. Took the class Feb 20th, DMV and prints a week later...permit came yesterday!
  14. The Gun Cabinet in Maryville charges $20 for transfers. I have never been to the shop, just called to ask about the transfer and the guy I spoke to was very helpful. I am going to check out Bills Outpost, I work 10 minutes from there and am excited about the reviews it is getting. Sounds like all he needs is a range...lol. Speaking of ranges, I have only been to CCA, Gunny's and Sevier Indoor. IMO the prices (range time) are so similar they are really a wash and it is all about convenience - I will just goto whichever is closest to my particular location at the time I get the itch to shoot. As for as the CONDITION OF THE RANGE ALONE, Sevier Indoor Range was the nicest of them all (I went to CCA before the apparent renovations). Also, in my experience based on CUSTOMER SERVICE, Sevier Indoor Range also was the best for me. Gunny's is the closest to my house, but with my work schedule and thier new hours it will be pretty hard for me to make it. All things considered, a typical planned Saturday shoot would send me to Sevier Indoor Range.

    Buds Gun Shop

I have sold 3 guns to them and all 3 transactions went off without a hitch. Had my check within 4 or 5 days each time.
  16. No I wouldnt let my 6th grader take one to school even if it were legal. But I cant say with much confidence that everyone else wouldnt. I got your point, and I agree. Yes, the class is basic...maybe I was wrong to expect more, but now that the conversation has gotten this far I cant imagine that anyone would think the government would just hand out permits with no requirements whatsoever. I guess Ray disagrees, which is ok, we also have the right to disagree with each other, no biggy. Those ideas sound good to me. My comment about 6th graders was just an extreme case of what would be allowed if the government didnt regulate HCP permits at all. Again, that seems like what Ray thinks, which it's his right to think that but I will have to respectfully disagree...as I think others do. Are they regulating too much? Maybe, maybe not...but we will all have different opinions on that. Happy Monday
  17. I understand that. Do you think it is a good idea to have a school full of 6th graders carrying 22 pistols to class? Or to let recovering alcoholics or convicted DUI offenders carrying handguns into bars and nightclubs is a good idea? Of course, this is extreme, but to not allow this would be regulation by the government. You cant say (not you specifically Superman) that you dont want government to intervene, but then say the government should keep 6th graders from carrying in school.
  18. ha. what constitutional right does the government have to regulate who can carry a gun in public? my answer is hell if I know. they do have the obligation to protect the citizens of the United States and I dont think allowing anyone and everyone to carry guns when and wherever they want to is really a good idea. I assume you do?
  19. I agree 100% on the personal responsibility, but I would guess a handfull of those in each class will not continue to educate themselves on gun safety and take additional range time. As pointed out by another member I called it a priviledge and then called it a right, which I later conceded to the confusion shown by my remarks. Whether its a right or priviledge will be an endless argument. I know what you mean, but in taking it to the extreme at the very least a state requires a minimum age. In going with Rays argument, they dont even have the right to regulate a legal age. Do those 12 states allow folks to carry anywhere? Do they give permits to convicted felons? Even still the federal goverment keeps them out of federal buildings not matter what state. I'm not saying I have the answers, but the government will always regulate carry permit laws in some manner.
  20. It seems you want anyone who wants to carry a gun to be able to do so anywhere and at anytime without any training, education or qualification requirements. By anyone I mean any age, regardless of criminal record, legal or illegal immigrant, drug and alcohol addicts and they can carry into courthouses, schools, government buildings and nightclubs to name a few.
  21. EDIT...now that I think about it, there has to be something to make sure the person is competent enough to carry a gun, so how about a free class and no applicatin fee (wishful thinking) rather than the complete absense of a class?
