  1. I travel extensively throughout the south east for work. Although most states are reciprocal, I still have to keep up with the laws in each state. For example in North Carolina your required to notify police of being armed during routine traffic stops. In Georgia you cannot carry in a place of worship. In Florida you can carry in restaurants that serve alcohol, but you are not allowed to sit in the specific "bar" area of said restaurant. There are also different stipulations on open carry vs concealed carry from state to state. There are resources out there that simplify the laws for laypersons to understand. You just have to take the initiative to read them. (posted at same time as above, maybe a little redundant. I also use handgunlaw.us as well as an iPhone app called "Legal Heat") You are more than welcome to use my comments, and can PM me if you need clarification. Neil Owens Knoxville
  2. Well yes, sort of, he is saying it will require cleaning more often ~1k rounds or so. Carbine will run longer due to high pressure gas recoil overcoming friction from buildup. As far as twist you should consider how far you want to shoot. See Dolomites post history for extensive discussions on twist rate.
  3. Well got the new LCP out and ran 50 rounds through it. Needless to say its gonna take practice to be accurate. The heavy trigger pull and small frame had a lot of my shots going down and right. I had 1 FTF and 2 FTE in 50 rounds using cheap Tulla. I have 100rnds of WWB that I'm gonna try next and see how that does. I am pleased so far, I never had intentions of this being a more than 10' self defense gun. Updates to come with the next 100 rounds PS my hand is sore, haha
  4. How much for how many? If a guy only kills 5-6 a year is it worth the effort?
  5. People commenting on the story are funny...so many idiots in the world it's ridiculous.
  6. Carbine is the most reliable but recoil is harder on parts. Mid-length was designed to be more reliable than rifle-length without the harshness of carbine. I'd say go either way, you most likely won't wear out a carbine unless you are really gonna shoot a lot. PS the RRA is on order so it may take 2-3 weeks to get in. This is straight from Joebobs mouth. I asked him last week.
  7. Midway has a 89-piece gunsmithing screwdriver set by Wheeler Engineering on sale for 62.99. Should have every bit you would ever need.
  8. Nice, does the R1 Enhanced come in two tone? Looks good!

  11. I loved the Kimber I had, sold it only to fund other gun purchases. However I do not like the ultra(3") 1911s. They have more problems, regardless manufacturing company. A lot have non problems whatsoever, but others are wrought with issues. I wouldn't hesitate to trade for a 4" or full size Kimber.

  13. Yeah I was surprised all I had seen previously just came it the white box. It's a nice box. That's first on the list, otherwise I'm anxious to get some rounds down range.

  18. I'm well aware it's not bourbon, but the "top shelf bourbon, Tennessee whiskey, Canadian whiskey, scotch, wheat, or rye whiskey" was too long. plus you got my point
  19. These were my thoughts exactly. it's a stretch but I'd say that the loophole.
