  1. Our gun control laws at work.
  2. So much for a high cap magazine ban. Idiots. Recon what Achmed would have used at Ft. Hood if he was limited to 10 round mags?
  3. Dan lives in Illinois. Self defense with a weapon is illegal there. I'll be ordering that DVD.
  4. No. That would be a Glock 19 at the Virginia tech shooting. He also had a P22. 32 People died. He used Libtard compliant mags too. 13 people died at Ft. Hood.
  5. I like Southside. It's a journey from Nashville, but a great experience once you get there. The facilities aren't near as good IMO, but it's nice to be able to park at the shooting lane, instead of having to haul all your crap though the checkpoint at Stones River.
  6. A LOT of chips in circuit will survive. I did read the Wiki article a few days ago.
  7. Well done. Unfortunately, it won't move the offending parties.
  8. I've slowed way down, but it sure took awhile. EDIT: BTW, what hair?
  9. That's what I was sayin'. BTW... I couldn't talk you into bringing back the pig, eh? I likes the pig.
  10. Yeah, but I'll bet the sex isn't near as good. I don't mind buying dinner. Girls don't leave turds everywhere, chew on furniture, or bark all night. And, when they bite, they rarely draw blood.
  11. Or less. Besides, I have Hogue furniture on mine. It's impossible to drop it
  12. Nope. High maintenance. It's ok to stick with girls, just don't sign anything.
  13. Last time I checked, my AR has a floating firing pin too. It would be difficult to drop that thing with as much force as the bolt returning to battery. The first thing I every heard of firing pin blocks involved the Model 59 Smith (my avatar). They had some discharges from drops in the LEO community, but they were dropping it on the hammer.
  14. If your gun doesn't have a warning label stamped in the barrel, you need to get rid of it. It fails to properly warn you of the danger of firearms, so it's very dangerous.
  15. Can you elaborate? They don't have firing pin blocks like a handgun, but the safety locks the sear to the hammer, correct? They are designed to be carried with one in the chamber, and safety on. Shotguns get dropped in that condition. They just don't get dropped as much as handguns.
  16. You could have just gone to Cheatham and shot it out with the locals
  17. I don't think it matters if it's uncontested. At least, that's what my lawyers told me. You cut a deal with the ex, walk into court, and the judge signs off. I didn't even have to go to court with my second divorce. Me, I was "dating" before I oficially moved out and filed. I suppose it could be different if you were in one of those fight-to-the-death divorces with kids and huge assets.
  18. I think he may have been yankin' your chain. Anyway, I think the dirt just falls out of it. No need to clean.
  19. The 200 yard is the last 2 lanes on the 100 yard range. There are two tubes through the berm. It's just 200 yards. There's a golf cart for getting to the targets.
  20. It's not the only pistol he used. As I recall, most were shot with a 9mm. I have a buddy that spent some time with one of them. Low recoil, and fast followup shots.
  21. Who knows. They have changed the rules a couple of times. Call ahead. It used to be that you had to qualify with a certain size group. i qualified with several different rifles, but never have shot the 200. I have an annual.
  22. But... he's not wrong.
  23. Well, they say that MOV's arent fast enough to catch the E1 pulse, which has a rise time in the nanoseconds, and a duration of about a microsecond. I think they're not considering the capacitance of an MOV though, which is probably significant enough to swallow the pulse without even firing the MOV. It's mentioned in the article that in some cases, the junction capacitance in a semiconductor can even significantly dampen the E1 pulse. This is a little slice of battlefield electronics. Nothing special exept for Milspec components... It lives inside some heavy EMI shielding to keep it from interfering with the radios. I got involved in the project when SOCOM started using it. It already had widespread deployment, but SOCOM is much sneakier than the average guys, and need quieter radios. Most of my involvement in military products had to do with making EMI spec. I'm not sure it qualifies me to comment on electromagnatic fields, but I'm doing it anyway :-) It's a real complex subject. I can't comment on the government studies because I haven't read them. I just have a good feel for blown up electronics and high electromagnetic fields. One of these days, I'll read thru all the stuff. I may wait until North Korea REALLY has the capabilities before I do.
  24. I almost never see anybody on the 200.
  25. Seems to me, the relevent percentage would be the number of LEO's killed by their own weapons vs the total number of Glocks in the field.
