  1. Does anyone have any tips for looking at used dirt bikes? Aside from checking the oil and overall condition, what are some red flags I should look for? I know the air filters typically can't be accessed without removing a body panel but I may try to do that. I've called a few dealers around Knoxville and the fees today are outrageous. The Honda I want has around $800 in various charges tacked on to the price, then tax. That's why I'm leaning towards a used bike.
  2. Is this a normal coping mechanism you recommend as a therapist?
  3. This thread was good while it lasted I guess.
  4. Erik and I was born in 88. Very creative.
  5. It's been widely reported that Hispanic voters are turning more and more conservative. Many of them don't agree with liberal views. I'm not picking on you Grayfox but this seems to be a widely held misconception. A lot of these people are hard working, family oriented and religious. During the last election a record amount cast their vote for Trump. Even NPR reported on this trend.
  6. I believe that the majority of illegal immigration actually comes from people overstaying their work visa. @MacGyver might know if I'm wrong about this but that was my understanding from hearing that in the past.
  7. We can't even find Americans to do certain jobs and I'm supposed to be concerned about Jesus putting a new roof on my house? I recently paid a Hispanic guy to do landscaping work for me. I have no clue if he is here legally or not but he works his ass off and his price was great. I initially called a friend that has his own landscaping company but he didn't seem interested. Too busy I guess. The situation at the border is not even in my top 20 list of concerns. I can't do anything about it, and apparently neither can either party. As long as people in those countries can't find jobs at home they will continue to try coming here for a better future. This "crisis" will continue to come and go from the media cycle every time they need to fire up their base and incite outrage before an election. We're all being manipulated. We're supposed to believe these people are looking for a handout when the majority work harder than many Americans.
  8. I can't figure if things are really worse now or if we're being manipulated by the media because the election cycle is starting. For at least 10 years, through multiple administrations, I've heard how bad the situation at the border is. No one has been able to fix it. I've seen people climbing the border wall so that apparently didn't do much good either.
  9. We need a report on the bathroom conditions.
  10. One thing I noticed last time is that I don't think they list their fuel price up on a big sign. Probably because they aren't the cheapest around. I couldn't find the price listed until I was at my individual pump. I also judge a place based on the quality of their windshield brushes but I was so distracted by the size of the place I can't recall seeing theirs.
  11. It probably comes down to the individual cop though. My electric bike isn't street legal. I've passed 3 cops so far in West Knoxville and none have paid me any attention.
  12. That's exactly what I want to do. Where would it not excel? Motocross? I have no interest in that.
  13. That is my favorite trail in the state. I've done it 5-6 times in the last 10 years. Years ago, Big South Fork was not that popular. There would be times we would go hiking and not pass a single person. We would let our dogs run off leash and they loved it.
  14. Anyone think I would regret buying this? https://powersports.honda.com/motorcycle/trail/crf125f-big-wheel Apparently both kids and adults ride this model. I'm 5'8 160lbs. There are lots of YouTube reviews from adults who enjoy this bike. It's a 4 speed with a clutch. Fuel injected. Drum brake in the rear which I don't love. Kawasaki makes a similar model with slightly bigger engine, 5 speed, and disc brake in the rear but it's carbureted. I know both make great engines.
  15. I went to one for the first time in Vegas earlier this year. The burger was delicious but the fries were bland. I would definitely go again.
  16. They also pay extremely well. I saw them advertise ~ $130k for their car wash manager position.
  17. Wow. Are you sure? That's hard to believe. I usually pay almost $1.00 more per gallon around here.
  18. It's basically what you get if you breed a Cracker Barrel country store with a giant gas station. It's a great place to people watch and the food is decent. Fuel prices are typically a few cents cheaper at the neighboring gas stations. Now that I've seen two, I hope to avoid them in the future.
  19. Perhaps the shooter identified as Caucasian.
  20. Nothing wrong with the bike but I'd like to be able to stay out at Windrock most of the day and not worry about running out of battery. At least with gas I could head back to my truck and top off. I could invest in a better battery but they aren't cheap. I really enjoy this little bike though. It's been the perfect bike to learn to ride on.
  21. I went back to Windrock today. As much as I love this bike, I now want to get a gas dirt bike. I may sell this one and pick up a small cc Honda.
  22. There is absolutely no way it's going to stop. None. It will continue to get worse. I can't think of any practical solution to this.
  23. Life is meant to be lived. There are places I can't or won't carry a gun and I'm fine with that. I'm still more likely to die in a car wreck than to be shot to death. At the same time, I respect your decision and right to go armed if you so choose.
  24. Normalcy bias always amazes me. The person in that car, not the one filming but the only one near the shooter, barely reacted. They could have plowed over the shooter or simply sped off like that truck but instead they just slowly drove forward. I'm really sick of this. Our country is broken.
