I have a strap on pad that I use with my metal buttplate milsurp bolt guns. It only takes a few rounds through the 8mm for my shoulder to tap out. Can't imagine being in the army back then and banging through a couple bandoliers worth every day. Those guys were tough.

Same here. And we've also had a glass top stove for years, works fine. Just don't drop them on it.
