  1. Dad and I built a bunch of wall shelves and a work bench in my garage before we moved in. It's way easier before it's full of stuff. I can assure you the garage will be full of stuff (not cars) for a while after you move. My bench is similar to David's except I used cabinet drawers under the counter top. I got the cheap white stuff at Lowes and it works fine. It's reinforced with plywood under the counter top.
  2. Thanks for providing this community. I also read a lot more than I post these days.
  3. Try putting some coyote urine around where you park the vehicles. Or just go pee there yourself.
  4. We've had bird feeders my whole life, I really enjoy watching them. I feed sunflower and suet. In the last last few years I've slowed down how much seed I put out when natural food is plentiful so the birds contribute more to the cycle. For example, my feeders have been empty for about a month now. When it dries up or gets cold, I'll pick back up feeding. It only takes a day or two for the birds to discover I've refilled the feeders.
  5. Beltman here as well. Worn the same belt daily for maybe 12 years. Its got some wear but still works fine.
  6. Us too. Chased each other around on bicycles. Ever tried to run a pump air rifle while riding a bike?
  7. Wow. No BB guns in the back yard in Nashville. That's pretty crappy. Though I'd guess (hope) you'd have to find a cop in the middle of a really bad day to get anything more than a lecture about it.
  8. Reminder that transporting wildlife without a permit is also illegal. A big boy air rifle will kill them just fine and isn't a firearm. Or toss the trap in a big trash can full of water.
  9. True, but I'm guessing Burchett isn't on the "need to know" list. He wouldn't be leading the investigation if he was. But the people who know can't acknowledge what a waste of time and money this is. Just like the Navy/CIA couldn't acknowledge that they knew what happened to the Titan submersible moments after it happened.
  10. That's a lot better than the watered-down, flavored, froufrou vodka crap they sell the tourists.
  11. 6 pickings on beans?!?! I've never seen worthwhile yield past 2. How'd you do that? Our garden has been very mediocre so far this year, we got a late start. Tomatoes, okra, cucumbers, and zucchini should be coming in soon. The jalapeños are in and quite hot, possibly owing to the cayenne right next to it.
  12. Most places are required to post a legally compliant sign. It has to have the gun pictograph with the slash across it and the verbiage from the TCA. The pictograph alone is not acceptable. When the law changed to allow carry in parks, it did not require signs to be removed. So it's possible there are some old signs that have no effect. The laws here are intentionally confusing and/or vague. It's annoying but such is life. Check out all the pinned threads at the top of this subforum.
  13. There's nothing in Erwin. Mars Hill is close enough to do the Asheville things. Elizabethton has some neat history stuff. Go up to Carvers Gap next to Roan Mountain park. Linville Falls, Boone, Blowing Rock, ..... Its also curvy motorcycle road nirvana.
  14. Burchett can think that all he wants. Black programs don't exist for a reason. Members of Congress might be shocked and mildly insulted at the idea that there's things they don't need to know. Meanwhile, a few people see this coverage, smile to themselves, and go on with their daily lives.
  15. Some complain about the texture out of the blender if you like the sauce a little chunkier, but it gets cooked, canned, and cooked again, so it's gonna be pretty smooth by then anyway.
  16. The driver's lawyer will be more rich.
  17. Fair enough I guess. Just seems rather nit picky. Kinda like getting pulled over for an expired tag.
  18. Has it ever been released why he ran? Other warrants, drugs, ...? Why would he get pulled over for a mud flap? I get how picky they are with commercial vehicles, but blue lights for a mud flap? Wouldn't a call to the company suffice? And the cop who released the dog needs to answer for that. I also get that dogs get excited but K9s should be held to a higher standard.
  19. Why engineers hate program managers with stupid ideas.
  20. And 31 trillion seconds (national debt) is 983,000 years.
  21. I'd like to see this one, but I doubt my wife would get through it. If you haven't watched "The Chosen", you should. It's fantastic. https://new.thechosen.tv/
  22. I echo what several have said. The fact that that guy had no insurance gives me near zero confidence that he'll come up with cash, no matter how nice he seems. If he does come up cash, I'd handle it with gloves. I hope I'm wrong about that. I'd get a quote from the Toyota dealer in addition to whoever your agent recommends. I wouldn't be surprised if the OEM headlight assembly is $500 and the bumper cover is $1000 just for the parts. $4000 total wouldn't shock me. Your agent's advice to not file is partly because he has a threshold for pursuing uninsured claims. If it's less than that number, he has to absorb it or at least part of it. Anecdotally, my wife did slightly worse damage to a car a few years ago. First claim in 20 years. Our rates didn't change.
  23. Details on the sight? I need to figure out if it will fit my son's bow.
