  1. I gotcha. It is annoying though, to try to get into anything self-sufficient that also has to do with nature and be labeled a hippy. All of this is a long way off for me anyways, what with actually having land and what not.
  2. At least the value on my POS Ranger might go up because of this. Doesn't matter, I plan on drivin' that thing to the grave (it's grave, not mine).
  3. There is nothing hippy dippy about growing my own spices for my red meat meals and my own tobacco for dippin.
  4. As if I needed more reasons to hate Harry Reid.
  5. Makiaveli-That's what spare mags are for. In all seriousness I do understand the point is not to kill the threat but to stop it, but if I'm in danger, rounds are goin' downrange as fast as I can squeeze that trigger until I don't see anything standing anymore. Besides, I don't have any high-capacity handguns, I can only get 8 out the barrel before I actually do need a new mag.
  6. I'd like to have some land to grow some spices and tobacco for personal use someday. Although natural medicines for SHTF do seem to take more priority these days.
  7. I can do that. Filming a Mexican doing a trick with a tow motor is nothing.
  8. I've always told myself I would empty the magazine, as I would think that would make it more convincing to a court that you were in fact in fear for your life. IE I just got so scared I just started shooting until I ran out of ammo.
  9. See how quick people are to go on vacation when someone else is paying.
  10. I would say police footage of his behavior with officers serves as pretty good legal advice of what not to do.
  11. Also it looks like Thursday is going to be the range day. If anybody wants to keep up to date just send me a message, as I'm sure the plans are bound to change and I need to stop hogging this thread with my own personal whatnot.
  12. That's pretty much all there is to it. I need a small leather knife sheath made with a loop to run a belt through. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something that'll hold up over time. The blade is a cold steel push blade. One of those little ones with a T-bar of a handle. I'm looking for someone close to Nashville who can do this for me. If anybody is interested just lemme know and I can email a picture of the blade and we can talk turkey.
  13. Scratch that, just checked their website and it seems their leatherworker is out due to an injury. Cheatham it is! Also I need to find a leatherworker.
  14. Also it occurs to me I need to talk to GnL about a little bit of leather work for a knife sheath, so I'll probably pick up some .45 and take my Ruger 1911 there instead of taking the rifle out to Cheatham.
  15. Cheatham is open every day I think. Noon till dark. Never an RO present though.
  16. Yeah. Probably should've specified I meant the Cheatham one.
  17. I have one. It is an absolute beauty. Haven't gotten to try it out at any seriously long distances, but I obliterated a golf ball at 75 yards using the iron sights with ease. I love shooting it and I plan to do so again some time this week. In fact I'm currently planning on Tuesday at the TWRA range. I don't think I'd mind too much if a couple people want to play with it a bit.
  18. As much as I love Guns and Leather, it will be nice to have a quality range that's a good bit closer to where I'm at.
  19. I notice they had no problem flat out saying the victims were all white, but when it came to ethnicity of the criminals they said "in most cases THEY describe a group of black teens". With the noted emphasis on they.
  20. I had one moment at Blockbuster that I was able to get some revenge on jackass customers and get away with it. Guy calls the store claiming he's about to get charged for a game he already turned in. I pull up his account, his name was Quinton Dick and that'll be important later. I look everywhere that the game possible could've been, and don't find it. It is at this point he reveals that he possibly might have turned it into the wrong location. I call the other store. They can't find it. I advise him to talk to the other store in person as I can guarantee him that it is not in mine. If the game is not turned in within a day, it will get charged to his account and there's nothing I can do about it. If I take the game off of his account before it's turned back in, I could be fired for it. He gets all pissy about it, yells some, and hangs up. Calls back saying the he needs a credit card taken off of his account, thinking I won't recognize his voice after just speaking to him, and also not realizing that I would have to pull up the account to do that which would reveal it was him, and the game that wasn't turned in. He yells some more, yells at the manager, threatens to come down there and beat him up. The Manager tells me to put a warning on his account. Just before I put a basic warning about him being a problem on there it occurs to me. As the warning on his account I put "Make sure this dick is aware of our wrong store policy". I came in the next day, asked the store manager if a Quinton Dick had come in, and he said yes and yelled at me for putting a warning like that on his account. I replied that it was his name in a grammatically correct sentence.
  21. That would be it, thank you.
  22. I have gotten both my mom and my aunt into shooting on the same day. It's really easy when you tell them to compete and see who does better. Long story short, I need that graph thingy that shows what you did wrong based on where you missed.
  23. None of them ever showed. Except for one coworker who came to fight me, but the manager calmed him down before it turned into anything. And before anybody says anything I didn't throw anything at him. He came to fight me because I told him he had to bring back the movies he took after his free rentals for the week had been used up. I wasn't gonna let that slide on my shift.
  24. Then you can bring a gun to work an amount of days in the year proportional to the amount of stock you own.
