  1. That brings up the other communications company I will not do business with. I no longer do business with any Cable company. I use satellite internet service and do not have a TV in the house. I am upset with Verizon because you can no block incoming text messages and have to pay for them per message unless you pay for texting.
  2. It was on your original contract. I spent 37 years in communications and one of the duties was final resolution. However once your contract is over they are not obliged to continue with your agreed rates and service and you are no longer obliged to pay them for phone service. I actually had to pat a cancellation fee because the contract amount was more than the fee and the service did not work where I now live. That was with the Cellular portion of the company I worked for before I reaired. They did not give discounts to employees as they provided a cell phone for company use when the job required it and personal use was a termination offense. (If abused). You now go from one provider whom you refused to sign a contract to another where you are required to sign. I resign every TWO to insure my plan continues. I was able to pull original contracts years later even after someone signed a new contract or even after they canceled the contract. If you had changed the third party contact the origional contact would have remained. The major problem with Phone service is competition which brought on the need to cut costs. Cutting costs means cutting services. I had to buy a 500+ dollar amplifier to be able to use a cell phone at my house because I do not want a wired telephone as it would be an added expense above the cell phones.
  3. The UPS guy delivers a lot from Cabelas. He is thinking about relieving me of a Judge and / or a 9mm Sub 2000. The nearest Pizza place is 15 miles. No delivery for me!
  4. I can understand that and I own 4 different models of the Judge along with some replicas such as the Trapper. The delivery people coming to my house sometimes end up discussing the ones I have. It was 3 months before I decided not to order the Bounty Hunter when I first heard about it. For lever action my Bear gun is a BLR in 300 Win Mag. I grew up with lever and pump rifles.
  5. Here is another pic from Impact Guns Google Image Result for http://www.impactguns.com/store/media/smith_500_10.jpg It is cheaper than the Bounty Hunter with a little more Impact.
  6. If you are serious about a Hand Gun: Most Powerful Handgun - Smith and Wesson 500 Cal Magnum Pistol - Popular Mechanics The S&W X-frame Model 500 is a brawny handgun designed to master the most rigorous hunting fields in the world. It is not a revolver one would, or likely could, tuck into a waistband. In fact, to call it massive is an understatement. That would be a Bear Gun and with a few less years I would probably have one.
  7. The trapper model with a short 16 inch barrel that is designed with a large loop for gloves and carrying in a pack would be a better choice because of the stock and it is a legal rifle. Barely! I had a 44 mag in the 1895 model years ago to go along with my revolvers and it does a job on Yotes.
  8. I picked up the trapper model and passed on the Bounty Hunter model. Puma also has the leather holster for it. As I referred before but here is the image: Puma Gun Leather
  9. They Hyped them as short, standard and long barreled and that was on of the selling points that lead me to pick-up 2. When the barrels were non existent I sold both. I am waiting for the 17 as I want something in 7.62 NATO semi auto.
  10. I doubt it. Just like the claimed longer barrels that I have been waiting for from MSAR. They might be available for military and with the cancellation they might become available. One day we might even have an intelligent POTUS!
  11. For battle purposes they wanted the abillty to do pick-up and be able to swap out minimal parts to use what ever was laying around. I could not find that as a civilian option either. Also the longer barrels are hard to come by.
  12. What it feels like in the store and what it feels like while shooting are different things. Go with the largest caliber you are comfortable shooting and if a conversion is available for cheaper ammo then you can save at the range enough to pay for the kit if you shoot a lot. I would also suggest starting with full sized and working down to small for concealed carry. There are those who carry a 1911 but I prefer a G27 with Crimson trace. I am now trying an Ultra Carry II in 45. Ammo is the limiting side for me in the 45 family. If you take a box of ammo to the range and hang out you might find someone who will allow you to waste it through their pistol.
  13. For HD and Carry the laser is more important to me than the light because I have a small LED light by the bed that I picked up for 5 bucks. For more info: The Glock FAQ: glock_faq_glock_model_info There are a lot of conversion kits also. you can even convert to 22lr for practice. I limited myself to the 9mm conversion for the G22. You can also pick up a nice used G22 for 350 to 400.
  14. My local "Pusher" says the middle of July is the current ETA for the 17. As far as converting and comparability between model parts, I am only repeating what I read. That was what lead me to purchase the 16 originally. I think the lack of a longer barrel within the next year will lead me to use a lighter round for short distance and my SASS for longer range applications. My STG556 is lighter and shorter with an 18 inch barrel and I just picked up an FS2000 because it has a rail front end for Goodies such as bipod. Those should cover the light work.
  15. I read it was something like 75 to 80% interchangeable parts between platforms. With the ability to do Battlefield "Pick-up" only requiring a minimum of additional parts. If your weapon fails you can pick up what ever is available without having a learning curve between weapons. 6 different weapons based on the same design. With barrels and magazines the ability to switch calibers would be limited by length of shell case. I would not expect to fire a 50 BMG through a SCAR or even a 300 WIN MAG but maybe the later would not be above consideration. FYI: I sold both of my SCAR 16s before even firing them and am waiting for a 17 to be available because 308 is a better round than 223 for SHTF. I did get an opportunity to shoot a 16 recently, nice weapon but I want the 17.
  16. You could always buy a "Back-up" AR and only shoot the "Good Stuff" through it! Then you could shoot anything "off the shelf" through your primary and not worry about failure. I think that was what SUNTZU was implying.
  17. Daniel: Read here: Modern Firearms - FN SCAR: Mark 16 / Mk.16 and Mark 17 / Mk.17Â Special Forces Combat Assault Rifle Excerpt: The US Special Operations Command (US SOCOM) issued a solicitation for the procurement of SOF Combat Assault Rifles (SCAR) on October 15th, 2003. This solicitation requested a new combat rifle, specially tailored for the current and proposed future needs of the US Special Forces, which are somewhat different from latest generic US Army requirements, which are being fulfilled by the newest Heckler-Koch XM8 assault rifle. The key difference in basic requirements between XM8 and SCAR is that, while XM8 is a single-caliber weapon system, tailored for 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition, the SCAR should be available in various different calibers. Initial SOF requirements included two basic versions of SCAR system - the SCAR Light (SCAR-L), available in 5.56mm NATO, and the SCAR heavy (SCAR-H), which should be initially available in significantly more powerful 7.62x51 NATO chambering, and should be easily adaptable in the field to other chamberings. These other chamberings initially include the well-spread 7.62x39 M43 ammunition of the Soviet / Russian origins, and probably some others (like the proposed 6.8x43 Remington SPC cartridge, especially developed for US Special Forces). The key idea of SCAR rifle system is that it will provide the Special Forces operators with wide variety of options, from short-barreled 5.56mm SCAR-L CQC variation, tailored for urban close combat, and up to long range 7.62x51 SCAR-H Sniper variant, as well as 7.62x39 SCAR-H, which will accept "battlefield pickup" AK-47/AKM magazines with 7.62 M43 ammunition, available during the operations behind the enemy lines. Both SCAR-L and SCAR-H shall be initially available in three versions, Standard (S), Close Quarters Combat (CQC) and Sniper Variant (SV; now it is dubbed Long Barrel - LB). All these variants, regardless the caliber and exact configuration, will provide the operator with the same controls layout, same handling and maintenance procedures, and same optional equipment, such as sights, scopes, and other current and future attachments
  18. It also depends on the weapon because some will and some are finicky about any ammo. Just have a few different weapons or borrow some from someone who shoots "Steel" to see if your gun eats it.
  19. Daniel: One of the items behind the platform of SCAR 16 and 17 was that a lot of the parts are interchangeable which would have reduced the required maintenance stock. The 7.62 is supposed to have 3 barrel lengths for various purposes and the 5.56 as well. As for cost if there are a bunch of 16 parts laying around FN will probably want to dispose of them rather than store them. Supply and Demand! Look what happened to MSAR STG556 when they were moving to a new location. I am still waiting for longer barrels for that one.
  20. Get a BASS: http://www.gunblast.com/images/Bond-Derringer/Thumbs/DSC07371.jpg fits the pocket with 45 LC. With the small pocket guns such as the LCP and P238 that look like a wallet in your pocket I have stayed away from small revolvers. Even my G27 has a smaller print for me. For a revolver I always felt better with a longer barrel over 3 inch. Of course a 6 inch is not a pocket pistol.
  21. Ken: Have you done yours in "Florida Swamp" yet like your other one. That is an interesting turn around. Lower price for SCAR 16s for us now.
  22. Puma has it and it is a 45 long colt configured as a pistol. Puma Bounty Hunter & M-87 Shotguns 44-40 and 44 magnum as well as a holster.
  23. "For a light weight, small frame carry gun I don't think a G26 can be beat. " G27 with CT grips and the 29 round after market mags! Or maybe my new Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry II but I have not shot that one yet!
  24. Free Of Charge: All communications devices come with an INOT Care app. The main issue with language conversion is that it would need to recognize speech on a regional basis because we do not speak the "Queen's" / "English" English and I knew people from the North east that I needed an interpreter to understand. Some say the same about me as I was raised in the Southwest. US that is!
