  1. Get a double stack 1911 and screw the poly frames!!!  Or, try a XD45.  They're pretty reasonably priced and hold 13 rounds.  My XD has the best striker trigger, other than the VP9, I've ever felt.

  2. One of the main reasons for the price of vehicles from the Big 3 is paying the health benefits for their retired UAW employees.  Those costs added $2500 to the cost of every vehicle sold 10 years ago.  With the rise in healthcare premiums, I'm sure it's much more than that today.  Why do you think you see so many Kias and Hyundais on the road today?  They're affordable.  I'll never lease a vehicle.  Oh, my old Ranger had 408K miles on it when I sold it for $500.  Never used a drop of oil either.

  3. There's 13 videos in this series of building your 1911 from scratch.  Most videos are very long (hour or more).

  4. Truck. Chain. Those red head anchors will pull right out. They may bust the concrete when they do, but a thief isn't likely to care.

I was thinking of high strength epoxy to hold 3/8" rods sunk 3-4" into concrete.  We used epoxy to hold bolts that supported 13,000 pound machines.  I didn't think of a pickup truck trying to pull a safe out of my garage.  That would cause a ruckus in my neighborhood.  Truck would probably win though.  I wouldn't put a safe in my garage anyway, but that's for enlightening me.

  5. I was told by several safe manufacturers at the NRA show to put hockey pucks under the safe to keep the bottom from rusting out.  If you anchor your safe to the floor per manufacturer's instructions, I don't see how many people would be able to get your safe out of your garage.  Cutting through thick threaded rods would be awfully noisy and very difficult.

  6. Isn't paying your student loans on time building credit???  I can't believe no one has stated that.  If you buy things with a debit card, you are establishing a line of credit.  Having a job and a bank account establishes credit.  I would not start using cards to build up credit.  If you need new tires or appliances, then used their same as cash credit card and pay it off on time or sooner.  Statistics show you'll buy 18% more if you pay with a credit card.  If you pay cash, it hurts more.
