From 7am til 2pm was at work for our fall open house. Then went to and shot at the VRPC's Club Championships at John Sevier. 50 trap, 50 skeet and 50 on five stand. I shot a big 85. Have only shot about five times on trap and five stand. But had alot of fun.

I received this e-mail from a friend. Not sure where this happened. .44 Magnum accident First it was baby formula, then pet food, but now you should watch out when buying anything from China, including bright, shiny ammunition. A guy came into the police department the other day to ask a favor. He had a S&W 629 (.44 Mag) that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range. He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new ammo (Chinese made), and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash. When the tweety birds cleared from around his head, the pictures show what he saw. Bet he never uses Chinese made ammo again! Looks like when the round in the chamber went off, it also set off at least two other rounds in adjacent cylinders. I would have hated to been the one that pulled the trigger on that one!

Up the Irons. I have been a fan since the release their first LP (1980). Now that should make you feel old. How many of todays kids have even listened to to an album on a turntable. First saw then in 1983 on The Number of the Beast tour. I even caught a drum stick from Clive Burr. Back in 2008 Billboard magazine paid Maiden the unique honour of having the front cover Billboard logo in Maiden font style, marking the first time in the magazine's history that it did not have the copyrighted Billboard logo on the cover. lol...yes I am still a fan.

Went to BP and picked up two case of Winchester AA's and five boxes of Remington Match .22's. Then went and shot two rounds of Skeet and was going to shoot my Trailside for the first time but the range was being used for carry class.

Well the show was good to me. I was able to mark one off my want list today. Found a Marlin 1894C presafety unfired and with the box.

California: The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out, bites the Governor and attacks his dog. 1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop; the coyote is only doing what is natural. 2. He calls animal control. Animal Control captures coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it. 3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases. 4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged. 5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is free of dangerous animals. 6. The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote awareness" program for residents of the area. 7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world. 8. The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack somehow and for letting the Governor attempt to intervene. 9. Additional cost to State of California: $75,000 to hire and train a new security agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes. 10. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files suit against the State. Arizona:The Governorof Arizona is jogging with her dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks her dog. 1. The Governor shoots the coyote with her State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge. 2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote. And that's why California is broke.

Went to shoot some skeet tonight and over heard a couple of guys discussing the show. I had watched it. Mike Seeklander the first to go had some ties here in Knoxville. I found this on his site. "From 1995-98, I was employed by the Knox County (TN) Sheriff’s Department’s Corrections division and was a member of its highly trained Special Operations Response Team. From 1998-2001, I worked as a police officer for the Knoxville (TN) Police Department where I was assigned as a patrol officer and also as an investigator for the Organized Crime section, investigating narcotics and vice-related crimes at the local, state and federal levels." Now I wish he would have gone farther. Looking forward to the next show.
