We just got our permit in the mail today and I can't wait to start killing!! Going to set some feeders this weekend and hunt the next few weeks!! Being able to hunt at night and run dogs is gonna help us out a lot I think!!
-
let us know how this thing holds up! I've been looking for something to just throw on top of my new ar...might even use it got hunting...they have some in sportsman's guide that has a built in red laser and one with a green laser...
-
I have the strikefire and I'm getting ready to order a sparc...They are great optics!! You can't beat they're customer service and they're optics are top notch for the price!!
-
They don't look too bad but they're lowers seem pretty expensive...
-
That was awesome!!

I have used many ARs for hog hunting in the past!! They will do the job just fine!! As far as your questions everyone else has given all the right answers...for the bullets your wanting to shoot go with a 1-9 or 1-7...the latter will give you the ability to shoot very heavy bullets such as the 77gr variants and heavier...as far as barrel length I would go with the 16"...20 is not going to give enough performance over the 16 to worry about it...You build a gun for under a 1k...I am building another AR right now...its a PSA(palmetto state armory) and I'm going to have about 800 in it...but I have quad rails and I will be running a red dot and back up irons...this is going to be my new close range hog gun...anything within 200 yards will die!! So what your asking is complicated or extravegant at all...

Thanks for the response guys!! I will start checking with my local bakeries and see what I can find....

I definately will be looking into 5 gallon buckets...anybody know approx. how much pound wise you can fit into them? like rice or wheat or flour?

So I'm getting ready to start storing some grains long term but I have really no idea on all of this right now...I have been doing some research and will definately learn a lot about it from this site but I have a few questions... First of all I can get barrels like this one barrels and totes (the top one, open top with a lever lock on it, food grade, and the ones I can get have a rubber seal in the top of the lid) for like 10 bucks... My question is are these ok to store grains in such as rice, beans, and others... Right now I'm going to be storing a lot of rice and beans...I figure these are the cheapest that I can start off with and everybody likes rice...RIGHT?? Also if these are ok to store grains...Is it possible for me to store two different grains in this same barrel if I put some sort of divider out of cardboard or some other material in between them...like rice and beens in one, and two other grains in another, etc... also how do you guys store them? I have heard everything from dropping some dry ice and letting it evaporate then putting the lid on to placing O2 absorbers in the barrel which I probably will anyways Also what is the shelf life on rice? I know there are tons of different types of rice but what do most people store? just plain bleached rice or should I stick with un-bleached? Sorry for the long post but any help you can give me I really appreciate it!! I am planning on putting tax refund towards a good amount of long term food storage so I'm trying to get studied up now... Thanks, CM

I would like to come down and join in this! Might bring a buddy if that's ok...this would be my first primitive get together! -
T/C Venture!! I bought one of these in .223 and it shoots absolutely amazing!! Out of the box accuracy blew my mind and they have a $50 mail in rebate right now so that takes the price down to like $400! Definately won't be disappointed with it!!
-
My dad and I both have one and they are AWESOME!! You won't regret getting one!! You can adjust the trigger down to 24 ounces with the accu-trigger and it feels amazing! Definately superior to the 835 which I had before the 220!
-
Congrats on your 26! I have mepro's on all of mine and love them!
