  1. I'm in for the pre-pay on 5 decals @ $2.50 I'm down for a hat as well. I love the idea for the morale patch. Even more so with that slogan you refer to!
  2. Count me in for 5 stickers & a hat. I'll Have the Sig Sauer blue oval on the drivers side back window of my truck with NRA and TGO across to the passenger side. Is there anything available that has the "State" TGO graphic such as what is shown on the TGO "Benefactor" image. Not trying to add anything more or generate a TGO swag frenzy to what you're trying to do now. I just really like the image (red, white, and blue) of the state flag with "TGO stars" in the shape of our great state and asking if that's somehow available to us in some form be it stickers, hat, or what have you, or just in a .jpg file. Thanks, Red9MM
  3. Hello TGO, I'm Sorry I wasn't able to make it yesterday. I posted a "THERE" last week before I got sick. I have been battling "walking pneumonia" since this past Tuesday. The Doc told me, cause I asked him twice, that we caught it early and I wasn't contagious after 24hrs on antibiotics and if I physically felt up to it I could try to go Saturday. SO the nurse shot me with a 12ga. 3 1/2" magnum full of antibiotics in each cheek and I picked up enough "rounds" of meds from the armory at Walgreens to load 2 magazines in my SIG. LOL I was getting better thru the week and Friday night felt good and was sure I could make it. I had everything packed & ready to go. Woke up Saturday morning and had a significant relapse of symptoms. I wasn't leaving the house period. I'm REALLY SORRY I missed it. Couldn't post anything about not being able to make it Saturday Morning cause TGO was down all frigging day. I was looking forward to meeting the local TGO folks who could show up and having a good time together shooting, eating, hanging out, and lots more shooting! Please post pictures y'all took and be sure to ID the whos' who and Who's that of the fall East TN TGO shoot. Sorry I couldn't make it and I hope my absence didn't throw off the count for anything that might have been planned. Y'all please holler next time a get together to go to Norris or other local shooting event is planned. Right now I 'm planning to go to the Knoxville Expo Gun Show next weekend as my next Gun related outing. Red9MM

  9. I went to Google maps and typed in: Andersonville, TN IGA and the results would seem to match BigJ45's description (above) of the location. It shows up as "Hensley IGA 3310 Andersonville Highway Andersonville, TN 37705" "this location is permanently closed" which would also seem to match "old IGA" General Directions From Knoxville: Taking I-75 North Take exit 122 for TN-61 - Norris/Clinton exit Turn EAST at TN-61 E/TN-61 toward Norris/Andersonville Destination will be on the right - 1.7 mi from I-75 BigJ45 - Is there still a sign at that location for the closed IGA? GoogleMaps Streetview shows A Hensley IGA and sign at that location but I have no idea how long ago that image was taken. For us newbees who aren't familiar with that landmark. Is there something else in that parking lot/location that we can use to identify "Yep, this is the place"? If any of this is incorrect please post the corrections. I have not been to this place I'm just trying responding to Titans call for help and working with what I've read in this thread so far. BTW, I do plan to be there on the 30th and will bring food not sure what yet, but something simple. Thanks BigJ45 for the generous hospitality you've extended to the TGO East TN's and especially us new guys who haven't had the pleasure of meeting face to face yet with y'all TGOers who've been around awhile. Red9MM I hope the copy/ paste from google maps shows up OK. andersonville, TN IGA - Google Maps
  10. Welcome to the TGO! Umm..., Is the first part of you name pronounced "eye, eye, eye," or "aye, aye, aye," ? Oh, wait... same question, but about the last part too! LOL There are many of us here on the forum who are IT guys as well as shooters. Oh wait again, are those supposed to be binary 1's? So is it pronounced "7wildfire7" ? JK! Welcome brother IT geek/shooter ! and the 15 day HCP turnaround. I'm not jealous YET! I took my HCP class this past weekeknd and will turn in the application for my HCP later this week. 13. I was there but very late in the day. Only had about 1 1/2 hrs. to shop/browse. Got a NcSTAR Tactical Flashlight (120 Lumen)/ (Red) Laser Combo unit to go on the rail of my P226 from the USA Optics folks. Picked up some punches, pliers, hammer from the lady selling reloading/gunsmith gear. I Have been looking for a tactical holster/vest setup and got one from the holster folks down in Englewood,TN in MARPAT digital camo setup for a soputhpaw. I like the vest a lot but the holster was set up on the vest as a lefty crossdraw and just doesn't work for me as well as I had hoped it would. I guess I'm gonna hafta go ahead and fork over the bucks for the Blackhawk Serpa on a tactical dropleg (side of thigh) Lefty setup. Saw a few things at this show that caught my eye. The folks from Volunteer Ordanance in Cleveland had some nice Sig Sauer Rifles 516's, 556 SWAT, 522's and P522's and a P556. They had a SIG Sauer 556 rifle with a M4 collapsible butt stock instad of the SIG folding stock. The guy in the booth said it was a older style/model 556 SIG still had around and he recently bought the last few they had. it was listed @ $1149 vs. $1499 for the new SIG 556 rifles. Also, has anybody every had any dealings with or bought a rifle from the older man/woman (wife?) team at the RK shows from Johnson City? His card Says Monte's Gun Emporium-Johnson City, TN (GalleryofGuns.com) and someone at Randy's Guns in Marshall, NC builds or supplies these for him . He has tricked out AR-15s on his table for $1100 - $1200ish range (and AK47s but I don recall the $ on those) . e.g. AR-15 in 5.56x45 NATO : S&W or Bushmaster lower, DTI/Deltonics Uppper with 16" 1:9 twist barrel, 5.56 NATO chamber, M4 Ramps , M4 collapsible Buttstock, Quad M1913 carbine length rails, with a NcSTAR Laser mounted on one side, NcSTAR Tactical light on the other and a vertical grip with switches for both on the bottom rail, 4x tactical Scope (not sure of scope make) w/ Green/Red illuminated/plain mil dot reticle on a flat top M1913 railed upper rcvr, adjustable Harris like bipod, 2 polymer AR 30rd. Magazines for $1185 cash price. He also had some rifles in the same tricked out setups on an AK47 platform in 7.62x39R. What do y'all think? Cheers! Red9MM
  14. I took my HCP classs today at Austins TN Firearms from TGO's very own Phantom6 (Hi Mike). Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Classes « Firearms Classes Mike did a great job teaching the entire course and answering questions that we had and the pratical pistol handling and shooting instruction was top notch. He also incorporates the NRA's Basic Pistol Course with the TN HCP course (BONUS!). Highly Recommend Mike (Phantom6) as an instructor or for the HCP course that Austins TN Firearms offers. Now if the TN DOS would just produce a decent, current, contemporary video and keep it updated that would be just Super. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tactics-training/45559-new-state-training-video-handgun-carry-permit-class.html OH and if they could get my permit to me in WAY under 10 weeks THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC! I'm not gonna get excited and expect either of those two things above to actually happen before Christmas. Check em out. http://www.firearmsclasses.com/ I will definitely take more courses there. Red9MM
  15. I took my HCP classs today at Austins TN Firearms from TGO's very own Phantom6 (Hi Mike). Yeah the TN DOS video (OK, DVD ) is definitely in need of some "Professional" help as has already been pointed out. The content gets the important points across but it has no "cinematic quality" or curb appeal if you will, at all. Mike did a great job teaching the entire course and answering questions that we had after watching the video. Recommend Mike (Phantom6) as an instructor or for the HCP course that Austins TN Firearms offers. He also incorporates the NRA's Basic pistol Course with the TN HCP course (BONUS!). Now if the TN DOS would just produce a decent, current, contemporary video and keep it updated that would be just Super. OH and if they could get my permit to me in WAY under 10 weeks THAT WOULD BE FANTASTIC! I'm not gonna get excited and expect either of those two things above to actually happen before Christmas.
  16. Plan to Go Sunday Most likely right after church. Norris. you must have left before we got there. at about 5:30 today for the TN HCP course range qualification portion ( I scored a 441 ) . I took my HCP class today at Austin's TN FireArms in Oak Ridge. Yep, our very own TGO member/vendor/ NRA Instructor Phantom6 ( Hi Mike! ) teaches a very good TN HCP class that incorporates the NRA Basic Pistol Course too. Highly recommend Mike & Austins TN if you need your HCP or other firearms training.
  17. Welcome to the forum! Which hill in East TN do you call home? Several from these parts are gonna try to get together real soon. Check the Events and Gatherings board and look for the East TN Shoot thread. here tis http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/events-gatherings/46166-official-east-tn-tennessee-gun-owners-fall-meet-shoot.html
  18. Welcome to the forum. the number of TGO folks from Knoxville and surrounding locales continues to grow
  19. Well, I got Nuthin! Where I work you can't bring firearms or ammo on site or even keep them in the car. Don't even think about it. Random searches entering the site and dog teams search the parking lots regularly. Makes it a royal PITA if I want to go to the range after work. Besides I don't have my HCP permit yet. Take my TN HCP class this Saturday at Austins in Oak Ridge. After I complete that and then fork over the extra $ for fingerprints, pictures, and state fee I'll see whats left for holster etc... while I wait for permit. But I doubt I'm gonna carry the Sig Sauer P226 TACOPS as EDC/CCW. I May look at a Sig 239 or 238 for a carry gun.
  20. The Beretta fits in the Altoids tin... THAT'S AWESOME!" Do you have to put the toothpicks inside the barrel or do they fit comfortably in the tin as well? LOL
  21. "Welcome to Tennessee, patron state of shootin' stuff." - Bob Lee Swagger - SHOOTER "You don't understand how serious this is. They killed my dog." - Bob Lee Swagger - SHOOTER Bob Lee Swagger: "Where are we meeting?" Col. Issac Johnson: "Somewhere where I can see you coming from a god da#ned long way off." - SHOOTER "Colonel, your moral compass is so fu@&ed up, I'll be shocked if you manage to find your way back to the parking lot." - SHOOTER "I didn't know you had a woman." "Neither did I... until they took her." - SHOOTER "Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why." - Rusty Ryan - OCEANS 12
  22. Welcome to TGO and Tennessee! “Welcome to Tennessee, the patron state of shooting stuff.” Love that line from the movie SHOOTER. Executive Chef, huh... I think you'll find most around here like eating as much or more than shooting! (It's a toss up depending on how close it is to meal time.) What's cooking??? Pretty sure you'll like it down here, at least for the more relaxed firearms laws if nuthin else. Enjoy the forums, freedoms, and hospitality we gots lotsa that. Cheers
  23. Welcome to the forum!
