I hate to admit this but about ten years ago I got a DUI. I also had my HCP at the time. I had my DL and HCP revoked for one year. After one year both were reinstated.

My wife applied for her first permit and I renewed at the same time. We both got ours in less than 4 weeks.

My wife's new HCP and my renewal came back in a little over two weeks. I was shocked.

Scored a 7, I sometimes carry a lot of cash.

I have a friend that was recently denied purchasing a handgun here in Tennessee. He appealed and received a form that said he was disqualified for firearms by the FBI in their database. He says he doesn't know why he has been denied by the FBI and has purchased a rifle in the past two years. He is really concerned about this situation. Do any of you guys know what might be going on or what some of the reasons someone can be denied firearm purchase by the FBI? Thanks' Bo

Has the five year wait been added in the last ten years? I only remember the more than two in ten years being on the ap or renewal.

What I don't understand is that if you are a holder of an HCP when you are convicted of DUI The HCP is suspended for the same length of time that your DL is. Once you DL is reinstated you can have your HCP reinstated.
