Go to their website and click on the button that reads "Archive Services".

For $200 they'll send you an Official Certificate with your gun's history.

The back of the Blue Book will give you year made and that is all you will find without a factory letter. If gun is older first generation gun and you are wanting to sell it a factory letter will help if gun was not altered in any way as it will tell you what it was shipped with (bbl length, finish, grips and this is what a collector looks at. letter takes

about six months now and only do it if gun is in good enough shape for you to recover the money for letter. A Colt SAA collector could tell you their opinion.

The gun is worth the $200 but I am not sure of the value. It is a Bisley model and has a nickel finish in great shape.

Do you have any idea of the vintage? If I can lay my hands on it, I have a pocket copy of the blue book and can give you the vintage. I'd probably just need the first three digits of the serial number.

I have a couple of letters on Colts I own; it seems every letter I get shows Simmons Hardware or Meacham Arms Company, both in St. Louis. That's fine, but I'd like to get a letter on one that shows the gun was as special order that went directly to Wyatt Earp or Wesley Hardin!! :-)
