What's a cowboy to do?.....

Recommended Posts

Like the lot of you, I'm addicted to guns. But, I'll have to say my favorite are the old Colt Peacemaker style, like the the .45 SA Army. No other gun is more recognizable or "sexier" than the Colt single action Army.

I haven't been able to afford an authentic Colt, but I do have my fair share of Ruger Vaquero's and Uberti Cattlemen.

I think because I don't have any more than I do, is because or the rarity of the SA revolvers in this part of the country.

Sure the SASS is big out west and most of the supply is probably funneled toward them, but I like to play cowboy every now and then, too.

As I frequent gun shows and do the occasional "gun shop run"....Franklin Gun Shop, RSC, and G&L, I've noticed that the presents of the old fashioned SA revolvers are pretty sparse.

Friends tell me I can order, but then I loose my ability to haggle for price.

(I say, when you're dropping dead presidentson the counter and not a credit card, you otta be able to wheel and deal)

Cimmoron Arms is now producing the replica Richards conversions and the S&W Schofield (also produced by Uberti).

Can anybody tell me where I can shop for some of the new single action retro revolvers?

Not only are these fun to shoot, they make great conversation pieces.:)

All I can think of is www.forthehunt.com Also known as Gunbroker.com.

I've been eyeing some of the Ruger single actions, but the grip doesn't feel right to me. Still, like you said, a great conversation piece.

ETA: there is a gun shop down hwy 51 I think it is Old South Trading Company in Dyersburg. They have a bunch of classic firearms for sale.
