  1. Here's mine (back before Christmas), right out of the box and after I replaced the original scales with some Cocobolo wood grips I'd purchased off eBay. I've also ordered a leather sheath from here: http://www.sagewoodgear.com/ Keep in mind, it takes 6-8 weeks to get a Sagewood Gear after you order on line. I ordered mine the day after Christmas and won't get it for a few more weeks. Pictures to come when I get it.
  2. I bought the new Ruger SR1911 the other day and noticed that it was made in Prescott, Arizona, not Southport Conn. like the ones I bought about 15 years ago. Guess the gun owning residents need to follow the gun manufacturers...out of the state.
  3. Found this on YouTube. Impressive, but I'm not impressed.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTchdUQcTvQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPzZkvYYQaM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeAYje1j-9M   If thses things are as good as they're supposed to be for only $50. The guy must be pruducing them all buy himself (i.e. not factory or help)... He must not have produced a great quatity, they sold out so quickly.   I agree with MacGyver, it's ugly, BUT To each his own... Jax, give one a try and let us all know what you think once you've tried it. Who knows, it could be the next Atwood Prybaby.... ;)
  4.   I agree with Joe. If it's too good to be true, it's probably too good to be true. You also may want to do an indepth search to see what the guys who got in on the first wave think of them. I haven't had any luck finding any reviews on other forums or threads, but give it time.
  5. I carry a Colt Defender (3 inch barrel). Love it. The Glock 21SF and the Ruger P-90 (I've found) when carried IWB, print terribly. That's just my  :2cents: ... But, upon reading previous posts, I want to try IWB a Commander size 1911. Dern, guess I'll have to buy a new 1911. :woohoo:
  6. That's probably what happened. I had a tennent of mine get caught up in a road rage incident. He flashed a similar badge to get the other driver to back off. Long story short, the LEOs were called and he now has the same gun purchasing and carry rights of a DUI offender.
  7. I lost interest when American Chopper stopped being a documentary type show narrated by Mike Roe and went to the somewhat scripted reality show. I like watching the assembly and tech behind building a bike....not the drama.
  8. Why do they buy this stuff? The same reason you and I would buy this stuff....If they have the budget and can get a good deal on it, WHY NOT? ;) It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
  9. The two big rooms aren't as big you'd think two big rooms should be. Most of the Bill Goodman crowd will be there. That's was most of the vendors/dealers I recognized, anyway.
  10. People who don't have their "respect" button turned on don't read signs. I have "No Trespassing" and "No Parking" signs all along my fences and on my gates and we still catch them parked in front of the "No Parking" signs and climbing the fences at the "No Trespassing" signs.
  11. In my experience in shopping the web, I've found that Cheaper Than Dirt isn't always cheaper than dirt.
  12. All of these are great ideas. But depending on where you store your ammo and in what, you might want to throw a silica packet in with said ammo if it's going to be stored for a length of time... http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=silica+gel+pack&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=7764714608&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2376710251097841207&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_3wwosk6do4_b
  13. The bylaws of the BSA do not accespt homosexuals....okay, they changed that. BUT, it doesn't mean that everyone else has to (i.e. the church and those dropping out of the BSA) fall in line with it.   Just think that if the NRA or 2nd Amendment Foundation started backing a gun control bill just how many would drop out of those oganizations and stop sending funds.   The BSA has done an about face on a principle they were founded on and followed for over 100 years. Anyone wanting to drop out or cut off their flow of money to them has the right... and my respect.   I don't wont my kids hanging around with that lifestyle (homosexuality) and growing up to think it's okay. Tolerate it, but don't support it.   My Prediction: There will be another oganization (call it what you will) rise from this that follows traditional values like the BSA did when they started. It will be the conservative version of the BSA and the original BSA will continue on or drop by the wayside....my prediction.
  14. Beretta 92F...purchased a month after I turned 21. I still have it, its cleaning brush, extra mag, the plastic case, the paper box it came in, booklet...everything It has a special place in the safe and I have considered it retired until one of the kids get it after I die.
