Yeah, that seems to be optimal for reasonableness (on our part) and response on their part.

+1 and as mentioned before, have your DL handy as they will need the number.

Herez how it went for me...

3.20.09 - Fingerprinted

4.03.09 - Called - "Permit issued. Allow 7-14 days"

4.15.09 - Permit Arrived

:doh:WOW! Guess I should have called earlier. I was fingerprinted on 3-3-09 and didn't get my permit until 6-2. I waited to call until about mid May.

Two buddies and I did the permit thing at the same time: same class and went to the DL station over lunch the same day. We got the finger prints later: I had mine in first, one of them later that day, and the other a day later. After about 8 weeks they both called, and had theirs a week later. I called at about 10 weeks and had mine a week later. That pretty much confirms it: you have to call, otherwise it seems the state takes it upon itself to stretch it out.

happened to me made the call got it the next week. my son renewed his it was almost 4 weeks over due tried to get him to call. when he did the lady said something is wrong. she checked and he got it the next week. looks like the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
