As a previous Advanced Carry student of CIS, I highly recommend this training course. They go into great detail about real life scenarios, laws, what to do & not to do, safety, various defensive techniques (example: How to react & what to do if you are about to be car jacked). Keep in mind you will be shooting ALOT of rounds. It's pretty intense. You CAN NEVER GET TOO MUCH TRAINING. Having a Carry Permit is great and all but I would ALWAYS seek out as much training as you possibly can and these guys know what they are doing. These are law enforcement professionals and they deal with escalated situations on a daily basis. Take this course for sure!

Silly queston: I know it says a CCW permit is a prerequisite but could one still take the class if they do not have the permit yet (or have not taken the state class)?

No, but we still have openings for our Aug and Sept Handgun Carry Permit classes. :poop:

Do we have to use a Concealment holster if we open carry?

· Everyday Concealment holster

No, your normal setup is fine.

What about a shoulder holster?

We do limit the number of shoulder holsters in a class (safety reasons), but you'd be the only one so yours is OK.

I did answer you earlier, but my post must have been lost with the TGO software issues occuring.

I'll be there!

I took the 2 day defensive pistol class and really enjoyed it so I know the quality of training will be top notch.

Cool, and thank you for the kind words.

I think we spoke on the phone. I'm the hopefully "Smart' Carry user. I'm looking forward to the experience.

Is there any drills or otherwise we can practice in the mean time?

Thanks,

Yep, these are some of my favorites...

1. NEVER POINT THE MUZZLE AT ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY.

2. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF OF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOU HAVE MADE THE DECISION TO FIRE.

B)

Seriously, no nothing specific for the class.

Thanks and I'll see you on the 20th.
