refinishing advice

I need (want) to have my 1911 refinished and given the fact thats its an alloy frame I don't know what options I have for refinishing.. I know it can't be blued, so I am asking the all knowing fellow bloggers.

It can be parkerized or it can be shot with any number of spray-on finishes. I'd recommend a thermally cured finish like Moly Resin or Cerakote as they tend to hold up better. I've been using Moly Resin to refinish firearms lately and have had really good luck with it.

Whomever refinishes your gun needs to make sure that they use a low air pressure when they media blast the frame, to avoid scarring the aluminum.
