swapped guns

Well, I swapped some guns around on Friday. I traded my Sub-Compact XD .40 and a shotgun for a S&W 1911. It's the Doug Koenig professional edition with all the bells and whistles. Looks like I'll be back in CDP this upcoming year.

Looks just like this one.

I was real busy all weekend and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It feels fine, but once I get some rounds through it I'll know more. I haven't had a 1911 with a flat trigger, just the long curved ones. I think that I might like it. It definately has a different feel to it.

I didn't enjoy. The gun shot good, but I just couldn't get used to the flat trigger. I was thinking about putting in a regular curved trigger, but while at the local gun shop, talking to some friends and looking at a new trigger, the owner said he'd trade me for another 1911. The full size 1911 with the adjustable sights was kinda hard for me to carry, as it was on the heavy side and the square edged adjustable sights would dig into my side. I am now the proud owner of a Smith & Wesson 1911SC Commander. He traded the SC and a good amount of boot for the DK. It's all black and has the Novac low mount carry sights on it. It's SOOOOOOO much easier to carry as it's lighter and the sights are more rounded on the sides. I'll get some rounds through it in a day or so. I think that I'll be happeir with the light commander.
