Taurus Model 172 17HMR

Recommended Posts

Would like to mount a scope on this rifle, pump rolling block design I believe that is what it is called, so I can carry in the tractor cab to shoot varmints. All the mounts I have seen on gunbrokers that are suppose to fit this model have one hex head screw with a nut underneath. What do you mount this thing to. No drilled and tapped holes on the receiver or barrel. The only thing on the barrel is the windage and elevation v sight and it fits in a dove tail groove. Any one know how to mount scope on it.Thanks

It fits into the threaded hole that is left when you remove your rear sight. No either/or with this rifle. To mount the weaver base, you have to remove the rear sight.

How do I get the bolt out of the rear sight. I have tried and can't do it, is there a trick to it? Thanks.
