A range to beware of....

Was in need of an outdoor range this past Saturday. CHMR is closed first weekend of the month, so I trodded off to Chapmansboro, to Custom Gunsmithing. Not a totally bad facility, but is no CHMR. I have heard folks talk about range nazi's and all, this place is the complete opposite.

I was there with my dad-in-law to shoot my Mosin, he loved it. If there were more than just he and I, and the one very responsible looking fella with the class 3 items, I would have driven the 45 minutes back home, and called it a wash.

There is NO, ABSOLUTELY NONE, range rules posted. Yeah, everyone should know them, but they don't and postings are a nice reminder. There was no calls for clear, hot or anything to the liking. Got a few weird looks when I used the commands, and folks in the pistol pit just kept firing away. The calss 3 fella looked millitary, and was extremely kind and cautious, him we were not worried about.

The pistol pit does slightly face away from the rifle rang, but.....

To sum this all up, I would not ever go back to this place for range time, and I really question his business sense, since there are no signs at all saying outside the building as advertisement. I drove right past it thinking.....wow, there is a range here too...no knowing this is the place I was looking for.

All this being said, if you like it there, enjoy yourself, if you havent been there, really no need to go..

BTW: Fella has had a problem with the ATF amd cannot sell guns or do any transfers at the moment.
