Hey guys, Can you all help me with this decision? I am wanting a compact 1911 and my budget doesn't exceed $900 so these 2 are on the top of my "prospect" list. I would like to know your opinions on these 2 guns and what you may know about their warranty. Any help is appreciated!!! Thanks guys!!!

Also check out the Colt new agent. Very similar but with trench sights on top and a black finish. I'm looking between that and the ultra carry from kimber

I too like the feel of the Kimber, I will eventually by a 1911 style gun and I think that is the one I would get, sorry though no scientific evidence why, just my two cents.

You must have a big thing for red heads. They seem to persuade you a lot. ;)

I just put in my order for a Kimber Ultra Carry from the custom shop. It'll be the most expensive pistol I've ever owned, but I think it's worth it. After trying a friend's Kimber custom out, I was convinced that (when I could afford it) I would have one.

I've got both and I'd have to say the Kimber it just built finer. There is nothing wrong with the Colt but to me it just fit and finish. If I have the Colt and the Kimber sitting side by side, I'll put the Kimber on every time. My favorite/only full size 1911 is my Custom Covert II. I have one and it shoots so nice. It's the only full size 1911 I have.

You all might want to look here:

They used to beat everyone in price. I haven't done any comparison lately. If you have a friendly FFL, all you MIGHT pay is their transfer fee. I think the overnight fee from R&R was 25.00. You will have to send them a photo ID but once you buy from them your always in their database.
