Voted yes - just check it out. I saw a Ruger Service Six at a pawn shop here in Murfreesboro, went home and printed an extensive "revolver check out" sheet, went back and bought it for $250 OTD. Stainless steel, original grips, and the best part: timing and lock up like it was brand new. That's Ruger for you. Very happy with it and very happy with the price, it is one of my favorite guns.

I believe the Pawn Shop on Highway 153 in Hixson, TN is Valu Plus Pawn, not Value Pawn. They are not real helpful, nor do they have a wide selection, but they sometimes have a good deal and they will usually come down around 10% if they have had it for any length of time. They make their money on guns on the front end and by moving them out qucikly.

I have a local shop that I have bought from a few times. They are in general overpriced, but on occasion, I could talk him down. A few of them were new (a p95 and a sigma), and the others used. But I could tell they had been safe queens. I often see that most of his used are used hard and put up wet.
