Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I just purchased my first gun (Mossberg 500 Field / Defense combo) and plan on using it for recreational skeet shooting and home defense, maybe get into duck hunting somewhere down the road. Currently living and working in Chattanooga...I'm glad I stumbled upon this site, it looks like a great place to hang out and learn a few things.

If I may ask, where are you going to be shooting skeet?

I have read about a range in Montlake (around Soddy Daisy) that is supposed to be pretty nice to shoot skeet. I may also stop in at Henry Horton SP when I go to Nashville. Other than those two places, it will probably be on friend's land w/ a hand launcher. Do you know of any other places in the area? I'm pretty new to the area and a total newbie to skeet shooting.

I don't know of anyplace to shoot skeet around Chattanooga. I pretty much shoot only handguns and rifles out at Prentice Cooper.

I haven't been skeet shooting in ages, and never around here. I'll have to look up the info on Montlake, though. And pick up an appropriate skeet gun, too.
