I'm looking to buy a cheap surplus mosin and was wondering if anyone had a good source in eastern Tennessee. I wouldn't be opposed to big box stores but like to support little local shops if I can.

The last several times I have been to Tri-Cities Gun Depot in Elizabethton, they have had at least one or two Mosins in stock. Also, Widener's Reloading in Johnson City has round receivers listed in stock for $79, but you have to have a C&R to buy from them, or have a LGS order one for you.

I can't make too many suggestions pertaining to you because I pretty well never went to Knoxville more than a handful of times, but my cash goes to Austin's Tennessee Firearms in Oak Ridge. I got a very nice 91/30 just before I left at an excellent price.

I second Tri-Cities Gun Depot. They usually have a couple in stock. Just an FYI but you can purchase firearms from Widener's if you live in Tennessee and pick it up at the store. Just pay the $10 back ground check. No C&R required unless you want them to ship it to you.

That's odd... the last time I called them about buying a milsurp, the person I talked to on the phone said they didn't do any more face to face sales on guns. Maybe I should call back, 'cause that is a great price on 91/30s right now.
