well, I ended up selling 2 of my AK47 kits yesterday, and one of my AK74's...

So I will just have one AK74 to build. But I'm gonna go ahead and bend up several flats in both flavors - because I'm sure I'll end up picking up another parts kit sooner or later.

Did you have custom serial #'s added? I overnighted my information on Thursday and the reciever was delivered to my FTF a week later. It was well worth the $$ to get the information and M.O. to them ASAP. Now I am waiting on a g-2 trigger group and a few 922R parts.

Custom serial number was my choice. I spoke to the gentleman by phone when they received my order(4 or5) weeks ago. Im getting anxiety attacks lol. He said it would be 3 to 4 weeks.

My first build is done! It is a Romanian non "G" kit with a birthday of 1989 built on an Nodak NDS-3 Receiver. I used U-drive type screws for an easy assembly....I hopefully will get to test fire tomorrow.

I got my borrowed bending jig in the mail today - so the plan is to bend up a few receivers this weekend.

I have put a couple hundred rounds down range and zero malfunctions. Limited time and $$$ for ammo will probably keep the round count fairly low for this rifle. I am thinking about duracoat for a final finish since I have another duracoat project coming up.

I've built 2 romanians so far. I do weld-builds exclusively, and wouldn't consider doing it any other way. It's just sooooo much easier than rivets or screws.

I built the first one on a Tapco flat with the pre-bent rails. Mistake. Don't buy those. The AKBuilder flats are infinitely superior, and bending the upper rails yourself means they're actually in the correct spot.

I need to get my SBR form before I do anything. Anyone here around Nashville close to Donelson that can do the Form, photos, and fingerprints? Bufford Hatcher did my first one. I just hated driving thru downtown area. urghhh:confused:
