Yokohama truck tires

downtown

Recommended Posts

Needing new tires for my Toyota Tacoma. I am now running Michelin X Radial LT tires on it. They have been great. Today at the tire shop the guy showed me some Yokohama Geolander H/T-S tires. For a full set they will cost me about $200 less than the Michelins. Does anyone have any experience with these Yokohamas? I know the Michelins are great, but if the Yoko's are good too, I would love to save the cash. Thanks.

I'll also throw Cooper tires out there. Based on recommendations from several co-workers, I bought a set of Cooper Discoverer H/T's for my SUV. They were significantly less expensive with comparable ratings & tread life. I've had them for about 5000 miles and I'm quite happy. They're smooth, quiet, and have good grip both dry and wet. I've not had them in any sort of real mud or snow yet. And they're made in the USA.

I hate to sound like a add for tires BUT.. there really is a lot riding on your tires. One place you should not try to cheap out is on tires.. if you have kids in the car

And I know expensive does not always mean good quality.. but still do research and go with the best rated ones..

I know myself will not put 100 dollar tires on my truck..or used ones for that matter. I pull a horse trailer with mine and sometimes have other people in my truck.. I am really adamant about having good tires on my vehicle..

I think last ones we had where Hankook and they did great.
