Nice yote. You know I have had a lot of talks with people on other forums about shooting a coyote with a .17hmr. Most predator hunters think it's not the right round for coyotes. I keep telling them they are crazy. I have taken several with a 17hmr. Again nice coyote and great shot.

Give us a little story with the pic. How did ya call it in? The .17 could kill deer if hit right. It's just not a hunting round I'd use. I can't hold the rifle still enough to hit it between the eyes. The last one I lost was with a .22mag at 50 yards. It was all my fault too. I tried a straight on chest shot. The coyote went into the spins and rolled over the hill. I never did find him. Anyway, good shooting Brokn. Nice kill!

[TD=colspan: 2]not much to tell. i was walking out of my last stand about to cross the fence where my truck was parked when I heard her give a few barks. I propped my Savage 93 on the fence post and started scanning the adjacent field. I gave her a few short rabbit distress calls and sure enough there she was about 100 yds away headn my way. I waited for prob 5-7 seconds and when I blew again she stopped looked straight at me and I pulled the trigger. the 17gr Hornady entered between her eyes and didn't exit. she dropped instantly. My heart was beating as if I'd shot a 12 point buck.
