Is it a 39-17-1359 sign or is it the one that say "Carry where alcoholic beverages are served/sold is a misedemeanor...."?

If it is the later, may places still have those even though the law doesn't require it anymore and doesn't apply to HCP holders. It has been reported that some ABC agents have told owners they are still supposed to have them, but that was right after the law change.

If it is a 39-17-1359 sign, the fact it isn't posted at the entrance means it is not posted correctly per the law.

When i first got my hcp about 5 years ago the instructor said there had to be a sign with a gun and the slash through it and that just simply posting "no guns allowed" wouldn't cut it. I should know this but what is the rule to this?

The gun-buster wasn't valid five years ago. The sign had to be precisely worded.

Tca 39-17-1359 owner operator banned weapons in building and property in short. Posted inside restaurant. So not a legal posting?

Scratch that there is a translucent gun buster on the door. It has no color to it and is completely clear. Only reason I even noticed it was because of the circle shape on the door.. it is not clear whatsoever

No, wording was left even more vague back then, there was only the "substantially similar" admonition, with that phrase left undefined.

And presently, though the "substantially similar" verbiage has been clarified, only the park statute has exact wording specified (and minimum size).

To be clear for you, gunbuster sign of any size is now a valid posting.

I'm think I'm going to try to contact the restaurant and tell them they need a much more visible sign. You literally have to be right next to it to tell what's on the sticker.

Don't forget to let them know you won't be back until they remove the sign :)

Don't forget to tell them that none of us thousands of people will be eating there. And also it will be shared with us that when their sign comes down, we will feel safe eating there again
