Holy crap...

I'm not a fan of muzzleloaders but i'd pick that up in a heartbeat. Fun times at the range when the poor shmuck next to you is trying to sight in his .22 rimfire. :)

seems like an awful lot of effort. I mean it looks like a kick for laughs and all but kind of stupid really. Some guns are designed for the holy black and others are designed to terrify some liberals. The two should not be mixed.

LMAO That is sweet! Were can you get one of those?

Just go get Joe's SBR, while he's gone, and have at it... I'm sure he won't mind.

Actually, I think I just figured it out. I was thinking that without a cartridge in the chamber, when he loaded the pellets and bullets, they'd seat against the bolt face, which would then preclude loading the blank to ignite the thing. But it just occurred to me that the bore size is undoubtedly larger than the chamber, so that's what the charge seats against.

Clearly, I didn't think this through. :D

Tony Rumore, the mad scientist-Saiga guy behind Tromix,http://www.tromix.com, built up a nice one. Check out his "Projects" page. Of course, Tony also builds things like.32ACP ARs and T/C Encores in .458 SOCOM... :)

Actually I've been toying with the concept of integrally suppressing a muzzleloader.... it's not a firearm, thus shouldn't legally be a "silencer", and therefore shouldn't be subject to NFA controls. Needless to say, the engineering problems would be challenging, and the utility somewhat questionable, but that's never stopped us before. :wall:

ok, I never REALLY understood why they called 'em "mad scientists" until now. :(

Nice way to tweak my perception of things!
