Wife's First Time Carrying!!!!

Recommended Posts

Well,

It took about 3 years, but she finally did it!

She's a stay at home mom, and rarely goes out except for the grocery store.  Today, she went jogging in the park, and she carried her pink LCP in a wallet holster in the diaper bag!

WOOO HOOO!!!!!!!!

You're welcome.

Haha ... Thanks TDR (and girlfriend)

Thats a good  start.. but  she be better off carrying on her person..Bad guys like to take bags  first.. usualy.

She's obsessed with skin tight clothing on jogs.  Those Yoga pants, etc .... We've discussed her carrying regularly to the grocery store, errands, etc... and she IS open to a holster.  So, it will be fun trying different holsters out for her to find one she likes :)  The diaper bag is strapped to the stroller with the pocket carrying the firearm right on top within easy reach.  I felt this was the next best thing outside of on your person.  It was a small compromise for her first carry :)

I know the feeling! I got mine a pink maxpedition fatboy and she carries all the time now! It makes us both feel better! Btw she has a Glock 27 she carries.

Congrats!!! I'm sure you've done this, but get her to the range with the carry method and practice draw and fire starting slowly and build her confidence in the system she's decided to use. Repetition and muscle memory is where it's at.

Have her look at Pistol Wear and Looper Law Enforcement holsters. I use a pistol wear when I'm running, it's basically a belly band, and with a lgihter gun you never know it's there. The Looper holsters are specifically designed for women. My wife LOVES hers.

Negative ... Not sure how it would look walking in to the range with stroller/diaper bag.  Haha ... Practice drills at home will soon commence however.

I traded in my G27 for a G19, the snappy recoil on defense loads got pretty ugly, I wasn't comfortable with my ability to get followup shots quickly enough. Just something to think about. As there is a marginal difference in hollowpoints among calibers above 9mm, I picked the one with lowest recoil.
